What are some good legit Toyota dealers in Louisiana or even in MS, AR, TX?

Up here in NELA, they are pretty pathetic.

Been looking to purchase a good late model Toyota, maybe a Camry or RAV4 at a fair price.

All Star in Baton Rouge seems to be legit. Yokem in Shreveport seems like they are pretty good.

I have been looking at CarGurus, CarMax, cars.com...getting decent hits.

What say the OT gurus?

I will hang up and listen.

TIA

Hampton Toyota in Lafayette has always been a respected dealership. Never bought from them, but I live in the area and they’ve been around a long time.

What makes them legit?

You buy a car. They sell you a car.

I've had great experience with both Price Leblanc in BR and Greg Leblanc in Houma. I bought my son a 4Runner in 2021 during covid. All Star wouldn't sell me one for less than $1500 OVER sticker price. They lost any possibly of my business, ever. We called Price Leblanc, they didn't have any in stock but they told us one was on the truck to Greg Leblanc in Houma. We ended up buying that one for sticker price, but it was exactly what he wanted.

I will say this, car dealerships have a crappy rep of trying to add tons of OT $$ extra onto the deal.

Examples, nitrogen filled tires, paint and chip protection, jacking up interest rates. outrageous bloated GAP insurance and extended warranty's, crazy ridiculous mark-ups, VIN etching, stalling tactics to wear out the buyer, market adjustments...

They're missing one or more parent companies.

I’ve bought 4 Toyotas from Price LeBlanc, I’m friends with Brent LeBlanc. I have sent a number of friends and relatives there.

Lakeside Toyota on Metairie has been around for many years.

They have had a lot of the same employees long term.

Don't know if that makes them legit or not in your eyes.

Off topic a smidge. Lexus of Baton Rouge is hot garbage. Although Lexus of New Orleans is owned by the same people, they are much better than BR in every aspect of a dealership.

I bought from them once, but not again. Went back a 2nd time and was turned off by their sleazy tactics.

That’s interesting. I’ve had the opposite experience. I’ve tried to buy two different vehicles from Price in the past and could never get a fair deal, left and I got near identical vehicles at All Star for a fair deal. Price is a beautiful dealership. Great selection, great service department. We bring our cars there for service when it’s not regular service. But always seemed like they tried to get more for their vehicles at the sale to me.

Greg Leblanc Toyota in Houma is a good dealer. They never charged the dealer Mark-Up fee during covid. The Hyundai dealership next door is great too.

I have had no bad experiences.

Define sleazy tactics.
