this is such a vague meaningless statement.

And if it’s so great, why are you still living here? Every person I hear gush on how wonderful somewhere else is, is still living in the states. Why?
For all of our faults and flaws, we are still the first place every motherfricker wants to come to. Why is that?

Well, energy prices are the reason for all of the other high prices you mentioned…

Grocery prices, yes. My insurance and utilities , no. These industries cite anything and everything possible to justify higher rates. They were high before this current jump in fuel prices. And I was pissed about it then.

I don’t think gas can get high enough to
Make me want to “hop into a Rav 4”.

Fuel expenses are the least of the high
Prices I’m paying that bothers me. Groceries, utilities, insurance premiums piss me off far more.

And humans in solitary get crazy and suicidal half the time, and it’s probably even harder for an animal that doesn’t have any understanding of what the hell is going on

What you’re doing is called anthropomorphizing. Animals don’t react the same as humans. And animals that lead solitary lives, like reptiles or tigers, don’t need social interaction. They’re solitary animals so they don’t get lonely or need interaction the way humans and herd animals do.
Total snooze fest compared to The Truist today.

No wonder they’re going tits up

What if the tortoise was an introvert?

True regardless of the breed.

But Pits seem to go bad even when the owners are good.

re: What's your favorite polo?

I just buy Polo shirts from Ralph Lauren. Worked for me in high school, works for me now. I find most modern polo shirts to be like golf shirts. Thin and flimsy. And that’s fine for golf, but i prefer the material of the original Polo for everything else.
You haven’t noticed yet that there isn’t any subject about which he isn’t an expert.

At least in his own mind.
Midwest Welding Academy.

You’re welcome.

Consumers hold all the power. All we have to do is stop the crazy spending, prices would come down quickly.

You go first. Prove to us everything you’re giving up and doing without to take it to the man.

No. But I am a biologist (by training) that spent a good portion of their career dealing (tangentially) in microbiology.

A biologist of what? No offense, but a tangential relationship with the subject doesn’t instill a lot of confidence. My wife is a veterinarian. She has a tangential relationship with zoonotic diseases as well. But that doesn’t make her an expert on Hantavirus. And during Covid this site and (society in general) was littered with those who claimed to have authority on the subject but were only parroting whatever narratives fit their beliefs.
I’m not trying to be a dick, but we already suffered (quite literally) through plenty of “experts” during COVID who were all flat arse wrong. Not really in the mood to go through that again.
And you got your medical degree from which institution?

Hantavirus is nothing to be trifled with.

They have already won triple crown races already as owners

Well that makes a little more sense. Probably realize his chances at the Belmont aren’t too good. Or they are truly concerned about his wellbeing and figure his future as a breeder won’t be helped by his participation in the Belmont. Is GT a stud or did they geld him?
Well now let’s define “regretted”. I have lots of things I wish I hadn’t done or had done differently.
But I only have one real regret.
Go listen to her interview with Dan Patrick a day ago. She telegraphed this decision bigger than shite when she referenced the distance of the KD favoring Golden Tempo’s ability and that just because he won the derby it didn’t mean the Preakness was a fit for him.
(I’m paraphrasing here, but that was my interpretation). I thought it was a pretty odd statement considering you don’t get many chances at a triple crown. I’d have been pushing for the run as long as the horse was healthy. But it sounded to me like the decision was already made when she was interviewed.
