Rec ball ball is tough if your kid has any talent. Some cities have elevated REC and Premiere teams but that is a mixed bag of daddy ball and politics. AA team with a good coach is where we landed. As long as my son is having fun and growing as a person through baseball I will enjoy the ride. I love these threads though because they still have a lot of truth to them. Bad coaches and bad parents are everywhere to keep the "Travel ball" stereotype alive and well!

We went to homeschool during COVID and never went back. Kids are doing great and we keep them in sports for socialization. They were bored and not learning much in public school to begin with so homeschooling challenges them like we want. It's not for everyone because it sucks to relearn algebra or sentence structure to keep your kinds on track but in the end they will be well educated and much better than their peers when it comes time for college.

This! The only checkpoint I have been through was heading south on Ellerbe in Shreveport south to Southern Trace. I was driving in from Texas and it was a Friday evening. Told my wife it was a big money grab to catch the rich folks after happy hour.
