I lived and worked in Deridder for two years in the 90's and it is a unique area. It is a dry parish, so no beer/booze/bars/nightlife. Also the population is mostly pentecostal and mennonite, so alot of chicks with long skirts who never cut their hair.......until they turn 18 and go wild. I would compare it to a morman rumspringa. Like the old Adam Ant song, don't drink don't smoke, what do you do? Lots of horizontal dancing.

Stalekracker is the only one I watch........not for cooking but for sophomoric fun. Americas test kitchen on PBS is probably the worst cooking show I have ever seen. Another reason not to fund PBS.

sports started 20 years ago when ESPN went woke. Finalized when NFL and college players kneeled for the national anthem.

large venue live music I saw Tool a few years ago in a large arena. Sounded like shite, way too loud, bunch of freakywoke people tripping balls and noone could smoke herb.

I moved to a new and better parish over 20 years ago due to the excessive taxes and poor education in EBR. I enjoy and regularly use the Goodwood branch in EBR. My only complaints are that it doesn't open until 2pm on Sundays and hosts several music events/food truck festivals. These events make the library unusable due to the noise and excessive traffic. With most information available in digital format from any computer,tablet or phone, it is time to do away with the branches that are empty 90% of the time. If we don't change soon, the library will join the long list of EBR failures like CATS, muti-million dollar projects for bike lanes, BREC waterparks and EBR's piss poor public schools. The solution to this long list of problems is to make smart decisions and cut the waste, not throw more money at the problem (with or without THRIVE smoke and mirrors shellgame.)

and people wonder why healthcare costs are so high. A 5000 calorie lunch with all of the calories coming from processed sugars and flavorful chemicals. A few pieces of fruit cost less than one of those poisonous energy drinks. No wonder they are lower middle class. Trained to eat expensive poison by the marketing geniuses on NBC,CBS and ABC.
