This law was in effect in 1994, the last year I was in the car business. It is not anything new, they just play with the numbers to screw people out of several thousand dollars. Only when the customer catches their lie, do they correct the sales tax..... Ask me how I know.

I lived and worked in Deridder for two years in the 90's and it is a unique area. It is a dry parish, so no beer/booze/bars/nightlife. Also the population is mostly pentecostal and mennonite, so alot of chicks with long skirts who never cut their hair.......until they turn 18 and go wild. I would compare it to a morman rumspringa. Like the old Adam Ant song, don't drink don't smoke, what do you do? Lots of horizontal dancing.
