please elaborate for us out of towners
Most coastlines have a steep slope—you don’t have to go far inland to gain significant elevation. SW La. the slope is almost imperceptible—in some places it is negative. You can be on high ground at the coast and the road behind you in the marsh is under water. You have to go a long way to gain any kind of elevation. Very easy to get cut off. And then there’s nowhere to go.

If you’re at the same hotel I’m at this weekend, I’ll try to drop some booze at your door.

New game: drink every time TWC mispronounces Natchitoches.
Imagine saying this, but not looking on the screen and seeing that they are in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Dead sunflowers. And it was a gorgeous field just ready for picking and fundraising.
Now you can sell dove hunts on it

sorry about your sunflowers
Trivial tgrbait I am well aware but we've worked hard and we sell them as a fundraiser for St. Jude.

I have a rule: don’t tell other chaserdudes what to do. (I’m a bad mentor.) Gonna break the rule today: Do not play games with #LAURA. Large, intense hurricane, at night, over marshlands is dangerous as hell. If chasing MICHAEL gave you confidence, lose it. This one’s different.

Definitely turning more north.

also, Cameron in particular is NOTHING but marshland/swamp
it's basically a highway on the east border, west border, and the southern border. otherwise nothing but marsh/swamp
so if you get stuck, you're fricking STUCK. it's just you water, and a bunch of gators and moccasins

The a-hole has now become the assee.
That's why it's usually a good idea to give everyone the benefit of the doubt in these kind of scenarios -- except for Peej of course.

They’ve been mentioning still a Cat 1 as far as Natchitoches. Which they’re pronouncing phonetically.

Looks like it’s moving more north than NW. just sayin.

Fun fact - it is 111 miles by road from Natchitoches to Nacogdoches
