New game: drink every time TWC mispronounces Natchitoches.
They're actually in Nacogdoches, TX, which they are pronouncing correctly.

ey there...you guys seem to be in the know...please elaborate for us out of towners...this is interesting!
Louisiana is flat as hell. It's almost all marsh land in the first 10-15 miles from the "coast". There aren't some vast network of roads to escape. 95% of the time you're driving parallel to the coast down there, not actually getting away.
It's no place to frick around with rising water, plain and simple.

Do you add the forward speed of the storm to the wind speed?
I have no idea. Not that it makes too much difference at this point.

I was kinda being sarcastic because if this isn’t the worst of it, it’ll never come. Didn’t think BR was too much in the tracks unless outer bands hit it after it makes landfall, but it will weaken at that point.

One of the bad things I saw after Rita was the coffins that came out of the ground and floated into the marsh in Cameron Parish. Supposedly they also found a coffin that had been missing since Audrey.

I got flooded down here in 2016. I understand at least part of that emotion. Hoping for the best for you, your family, and friends.
