Don't do this.

Agreed.
It would appear that the ability to detect sarcasm is asking too much.

I like the maverick. If the cyber truck was just a compact, normal pickup like the maverick with great range and a good price it would have sold a ton
But really, the answer to inproving car affordability, insurance rates, road maintenance, and general happiness is to get Americans to use japanes k-trucks as their in town drivers.
The ford maverick is at least a step in the direction to k-trucks.

Reo is coming out with a basic no frills truck. 4 cylinder gas engine, manual transmission, manual crank windows.
REO Trucks

Bought a 26 F150 Lariat earlier this year. Got it for less than a local dealer was asking for XLTs. Had to drive about 40 mins but it was the best car buying experience I have had. No haggle pricing and it was lower than anywhere I could find. No salesman trying to upsell accessories or coatings, Truck was 70k, but I wanted/needed a truck and they are not gonna get cheaper. So just bit the bullet. Bought it at some place this baw did.

Sounds interesting. Hopefully they are able to deliver a good product.

But you just needed to get a Lariat huh?
70K for a truck? Only if you drive it till you die.
Waiting for your additional justification.

quote:I always employ this in my purchases. End of one February and 3 dealerships are calling me wanting to meet my price.
That is why some dealers are so apt to move inventory at the end of the month so they can get a vehicle off their books even though they may lose money on it.

The real issue is that we still cling to a dealership model that is protected by state laws.
HOw does this change anything?
Assume in your example that Ford now owns every Ford dealer. They then price every Maverick in the country at $36,000 and only carry the better trims, as stated above. How did this solve your problem?
Further, there is no other dealer in town, even in Houston or Baton Rouge, that you can play against them. You walk into Stoutville Ford (owned by Ford), ask about the Maverick, your name is put into the CRM, and now every Ford store in the world has it on record that you were told $36k is the price.
Today you could go to Mack Haik or Ronny Lemark and ask them for a better deal, and one might give it to you.

If they are only selling it with manual that is DOA
Otherwise a good vehicle for running around town

Who in their right mind is gonna fall for that
Baws can't buy 90K Z71 and 110K King Ranch's fast enough, why shouldnt they ask 50K for a Ranger?

Never tell them how you're going to pay before you settle on a price

They list MT with an AT option.
I miss my MT and they reduce the chance of theft.

Compare a 1970 Mustang which could be had with a very conservative 375hp and a boatload more twist
That was gross hp which is a theoretical figure. They switched to real world net hp in 1972. So that “375hp” motor in 1970 realistically put out about 215hp net
