When you think about all the dirty slimy things this obama fool has done and is still doing to our great nation, yeah I think its warranted.
We know this jug-headed fool has been trying to sabotage President Trump at EVERY turn. Spying on him, Russia-gate, I would even bet he had something to do with what went down in Butler, PA.

But now if anything it seems like new is the best route. I hate it, but if it's only $2,000-$3,000 more, it seems worth it to know exactly how it's been driven, have all the maintenance records and have the ability to basically not worry for the first 3 years of any major maintenance, unless you are putting a ton of miles on the car.
The car/truck market is absolutely ridiculous right now. This is the best route right now considering the price difference between a clean, low mileage late model used vs a new vehicle.
The Big Three vehicles are absolute crap. They are not moving hardly at all,
Ford just took a huge write down because of the EV scam.
Dodge, aka Stelanntis is tethering on collapse. Its only a matter of time except there is no Lee Iacco to save them this time. It gonna fall into the laps of Uncle Sugar, aka you and I, the taxpayer.
GM is doing no better and is barely hanging on.
Its a great time to be a Toyota, even a Honda and Mazda dealer right now. Even they are dealing with crap engines too.

Sadly I don't see any changes to the new car market in terms of affordability, unless states finally allow direct to consumer sales and cut out the middle man dealerships.
This not going to happen for quite a while. The auto dealers for the most part have bought off most, if not all state legislatures.
They hold tremendous power in the state governments.
The Internet with on-line shopping is slowly changing the balance of power but its a slow, slow grind.
Amazon is purportly going to get into the car/truck business. How will this work? IDK

Covid 1984 really screwed the whole nation. It will take years to right the ship. It can be done but its going to be a long hard journey.
The new and used vehicle market is going to see some drastic changes in the next few years.

Here is a LA local story:
Then there is the rancid smell:
LINK
quote:
LOS ANGELES - Spoiled crab meat, beef, and pig feet are among millions of pounds of decomposing food now rotting inside and outside a burned Lineage Logistics warehouse in Boyle Heights, creating a strong odor that residents say has become unbearable as cleanup efforts continue.
quote:Maybe they can call Jameis Winston to help with clean up?

Then there is the rancid smell:
quote:
"The smell goes into my throat. I had vomiting, gagging," Ramirez said.
"It’s not something you want to be smelling. You don’t want to wake up in the morning and get hit with that rancid dead body smell," said Oscar, a nearby resident.
Officials warn the decaying food mass poses an ongoing public health concern. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health says the remaining material could generate nuisance odors, attract pests, and create conditions consistent with potential biohazard concerns if not properly contained.

Looks like another yuge price spike and shortages on the way.
Wouldn't be surprised if this was intentional sabotage.

A lot of it has to do with how bad the local dealer needs to move vehicles and how long the vehicle has been sitting on the lot.
Also, if it's a high in-demand vehicle, like a Toyota, Honda...there is not going to be as much negotiating room.
The best time to buy a vehicle is at the end of the month/quarter or better yet toward the end of the year.
Sales goals, bonus', quotas are trying to be met. Sometimes they need just one more vehicle to sell to met their sales goals.
The dealer may be willing to let the vehicle go at a low price just to met those goals.

I know someone that spent 9 hours at a dealer recently. Absolutely a waste of time. I’ll probably never buy new again until I can order one online and go pick it up.
Yep. That is one of the dirty tricks they use to get the potential buyer to finally break down, give up and pay their BS prices.
Put 'em on a time limit, say 5 minutes. If they don't come back within that limit, walk out the door. Most of the time they are going to come out in the parking lot and give a better price.
I have been around and in dealerships a long time, so I have seen a few things.
A few tips:
Always negotiate over the phone and/or e-mail. Make sure you get a detailed price quote with all fees listed on e-mail or text. NEVER agree to a 'verbal' price. GET IT WRITING.
The first question a salesperson is going to ask is 'What is the monthly payment you are looking for?'
NEVER answer that question. Always respond with something like, 'I have an amount in mind BUT I need the BOTTOM LINE price with all fees listed in WRITING', aka the Out-The-Door price.
Never announce you are paying with cash. Sales and F&I folks are trained for that and once they know this, they become less willing to negotiate on price.
Here is why: Dealers make a ton of $$ on financing a vehicle. They have a 'mark-up' on the interest rate they offer you.
So get an interest rate quote from your bank/credit union and see if they can beat that rate. Most of the time, they can't/won't.
And make sure there is not an EARLY payoff penalty in the contract.
Always negotiate the BOTTOM LINE or Out-Door-Price with all fees listed in writing BEFORE anything else is agreed upon.. Never agree to a 'verbal' agreement.
NEVER sign an arbitration agreement. You lose any legal recourse if something goes wrong or you purchase a lemon.
If they counter(and they will) with something like 'Well, its mandatory that you sign it' ask them to show you where it is required. LOL. They cant because an arbitration agreement is NOT REQUIRED.
If they won't agree to waiving the agreement, GET UP AND WALK OUT THE DOOR.
The F&I office is where the dealerships make the big $$$.
Educate yourself...extended warranties, GAP insurance, nitrogen filled tires, key replacement insurance, fabric protection, VIN etching... are pretty much useless.

The only way this crap is gonna stop is when the Dealer Principles, Owners, shady F&I managers, General managers, sales managers are in prison doing hard time in an 8x12 prison cell.

BUYER BEWARE aka caveat emptor
DealerGroupWarningLetter
Here is the list of Dealer groups that were sent the letter of warning:
DealerGroupWarningList
quote:
The Federal Trade Commission is sending letters to 97 auto groups nationwide, warning them that the prices they advertise must be the total price—including all mandatory fees—that consumers will be required to pay.
The letters encourage dealers to review their advertising and pricing practices, including ensuring advertised prices include all fees consumers will be required to pay when buying a vehicle. At a minimum, this includes evaluating advertised prices to ensure they match actual prices charged to consumers. The FTC will continue to monitor the marketplace, the letters state, and will take additional action as warranted to ensure compliance with the FTC Act and other rules the Commission enforces.
“The Trump-Vance FTC is committed to preventing auto dealers from misleading consumers with low advertised prices and then adding on mandatory fees at the end of the purchasing process,” said Christopher Mufarrige, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “The FTC will remain focused on monitoring auto dealerships to ensure that the market functions efficiently and competitors are transparently competing on price.”
quote:
The letters the FTC sent to the auto dealers cite several examples of illegal pricing practices in the auto industry including:
*advertising a price that does not reflect all required fees,
*advertising a price that reflects rebates or discounts not available to all consumers,
*advertising a price that fails to take into account the amount of an additional required down payment,
*conditioning the advertised price on consumers using dealer financing,
requiring consumers to buy additional items not reflected in the advertised price, and
*advertising unavailable or non-existent vehicles.

In theory, yes. In reality, well we know what will happen and who and what they will cry.
Also, their fat overweight diabetes laden butts will be at the doctor's office 3 times a month begging for all these meds, injections and ultimately needing kidney dialysis and kidney transplants that we, the taxpayers, have to pay for.
All because these idiots are chugging down 2-3 cases of soda, Doritos, ice-cream, eating crap food all day while watching soap operas and posting stupid crap on tic-tock and facebook.
And you we know who pays for all this in the end. Yep, that's right. You and I through higher taxes, increased insurance premiums...

Rep. Brandon Gill asked Gina Plata-Niño, Director of SNAP Policy and Advocacy for the Food Research and Action Center, why her organization advocates that SNAP benefits cover sugary sodas like Coca-Cola, and eventually arrives at the questions: "Do organizations who profit off of food stamps fund your organization or businesses?" "Does General Mills fund your organization?"
"I don't have access to that information," the witness said.
"I do," Gill said. "It's right here. They do fund your organization. Do they profit off of food stamps?"
"Retailers are the major beneficiaries. That's where EBT dollars are utilized," the witness said.
"Yes, and they're profiting off of your advocacy. Do you think that that's a conflict of interest?" Gill asked, getting no response. "I think most people think that's a conflict of interest. I know you don't want to answer. My time is up."
