Robinson Brothers has been on the high end anytime I’ve looked at a vehicle on their site. Hollingsworth Ford typically has the best Ford pricing around BR area. Bayou Ford in Laplace had a better price than Hollingsworth on one specific vehicle I was looking at not too long ago.

Yeah, starting in 71, they offered a 302 Windsor. Straight 6 250 was the biggest engine offered in 1970. I think they sold way more of the I6 200 and 250 models.

In 1977 I bought a 1972 Mustang that had the straight 6 200 engine. It was a piece of shite, but it got me through my senior year of high school and first two years of college. I paid only $1000 for it.

But a loaded platinum was still mid-upper 60's. On the showroom floor.

Get an American made Santa Cruz instead of that Mexican garbage. They look almost the same and cost about the same. the Santa Cruz has some Toyota technology in it.

Paid $950 for the 1970 Maverick I got in 1978 with the 250 in it. It wasn't a great car, but it was adequate until I wrecked it.

I don't need a truck but my oldest is looking for a vehicle.

Trucks are super expensive. I had a budget for my sons. I gave them a choice. You can have a sedan with low miles or a truck with high miles, because they basically cost the same. They decided to get cars with less than 25K miles instead of a truck with almost 100K. The Maverick wasn’t available at that time.

Those scrawny little things has a 302 cubic inch V8 in them.

Same as my 68 Galaxie 500, and it had great pickup for being heavy as a tank.

Keep looking. I work for a Ford dealer group. Between two of our stores we have 196 of them. They start at 26k but only a couple at that price. Lots of them around 29-30k. It’s like anything else, you won’t get an XLT at that price, but you should be able to find a base model.

Really want to get pissed off. See what $20k buys you in China. It's obvious why we ban Chinese cars.
US manufacturers wouldn't sell a car.
The chicken tax keeps us from the cheap small trucks you can get worldwide. Even American brands like the little Ram truck that's all over Mexico. The Ram 700. $19k south of the border not sold in the US.

Extremely ignorant take.

There are presently 129 EV car makers in China, with an estimated 8 million units/year overcapacity on 23M total capacity. They are in a brutal price war for literal company survival because the CCP, for the first time in 15 years, did not include "New Energy Vehicles" in their five year plan this year.

They are dumping cars overseas at losses even by CCP accounting with ZERO cost of capital for development and production just to stay afloat. All but 3-4 of them will be gone - and so will their customer support - within five years.

Can’t you order a base model if they don’t stock them?

I got a brand new 2006 F150 with leather seats for something like $34,000

I bought a brand new 2011 Silverado LT from Ross Downing in Hammond and paid 24,000. Got a great deal end of year only had two 2011's left on the lot. Sticker price at the time was like 34,000. That same truck now, sticker is 63,000. Yeah I get inflation and basic price increases over time but that is insane.
