re: 'It's a Lifelong Burden': The Mixed Blessing of the Medal of Honor - Ricardo
I watched that video and I wept with pride. What a hero. We don't deserve people like that, but I'm grateful they exist....

re: Lost in the abortion debate is how the male feels about it. - Ricardo
I don’t hate you. Going to extremes, someone feels compelled to murder someone who is hampering their life, an inconvenience. How and why so different? The fetus, with a heartbeat, fingers and toes, isn’t a human?
It's definitely a point of contention, and one that is going throu...
So you are pro drug legalization
I am. I also think doing drugs is a bad idea, but I don't pretend to tell people what to do with their body. I've made it pretty clear that I believe a person should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as they're willing to suffer the...
My mom didn’t want me, was a bastard of an affair, but decided to keep me. My cousin was adopted out by a pro-choice aunt and her second mistake became my adopted sister. Don’t tell me there aren’t fricking options for a woman who doesn’t want her own mistake, without killing a human.
...
The big issue is the flip side of that coin. Women quits on the kid and the man has ZERO RECOURSE. I don't think that's right.
I don't think it's right either, but life isn't fair. Guys have it pretty good with regard to the whole procreation gig. We don't have to carry a baby ...
As I have said before, women have a lot of avenues to prevent.
While true, the same could be said for if the guy says he loves her and wants the kid the whole time then bails at the hospital. How does she prove that both parties wanted the kid? She can't, so should every wo...

re: Lost in the abortion debate is how the male feels about it. - Ricardo
So, you think a woman who feels she made a “mistake”, has the power. Don’t forget women who had consensual sex, regret it and ruin a man’s life with cries of rape.
I think someone should have the "power." And if I have to give it to someone, I'm giving it to the party that has t...

re: Lost in the abortion debate is how the male feels about it. - Ricardo
Your mysogeny on this topic is laughable. You see a woman as a babe in the woods that has no responsibility for her own actions. It's quite condescending.
I just see it as the person that has to carry the child is the one that gets the final say. If a dude wants that power then ...

The guy isn't irrelevant. He made the decision to bring a life into the world when he ejaculated into her. She has the decision to keep it. Pretty simple really....
Thats mental. Theres like a dozen forms of female contraception. Condoms or a vasectomy for men. Not to mention the day after pill This line of thinking is so fricked. Its arguable that the level of irresponsibility regarding an unplanned pregnancy is far, far greater for a woman. You coul...

IMO, the man agreed to be the father when he blew his load. As for the woman. Ultimately, it's her decision since she is saddled with the responsibility to carry it. If she can live with the decision to end its life, then that's her cross to bear....
As long as we as a society have to pay for those choices, then yes. Sign out of access to Medicare and Medicaid, pay for the consequences of your decisions, and then we can talk about your ‘individual’ choices.
I tend to agree. But to play devil's advocate, we embark on a slippe...

re: How many of you oppose the legalization of cannabis? - Ricardo
I believe in common sense. Marijuana can't really kill someone from an OD like many legal drugs, so from that perspective I think it's silly to prohibit it. That being said. I think people need to understand there are consequences to using drugs, and just because something is legal shouldn't me...
I don’t care what you smoke in private. Just don’t smoke in public or drive high.
Part of the problem with this is you're asking people that have already made a poor decision, to show responsibility and make the correct decision to not function outside of their capabilities. ...
