Damn son

Worst thing ever happened to me really was before I got married...I was probably 19-20 in college at LSU and went to my grandma's house for what we all knew would be her last Thanksgiving (she passed before Christmas that same year)....my 14 year old cousin showing up high on crack with some meth head boyfriend and let us know she was pregnant with her 1st child....needless to say I haven't spoken to her since and I'm 37 now In hindsight it was good that my grandmother died that year and didn't have to put up with that BS for long....that girl had 4 kids before she was 18.

Sure, if you want.

Make sure to, at the very least, bring some kind of illegal substance to share or a carton of cigarettes. You'll fit in just fine!

They better buy you dinner after getting you to take a half day and not showing up to BR until the late afternoon.

Why does your family continue to let the sister n law run the show?

I must be damn lucky. Both my family and my inlaws are great. There is no drama at holidays.

I can't imagine continuing to go to family functions with the shite some of y'all are describing. One crappy incident and I'd be having Thanksgiving/Christmas at my house, alone for the rest of my life.

Two options:

Go with the flow, or

Not gonna work, see you when you get to Shreveport and will catch up then

and that's why people inconsiderate of your time continue to behave in such a manner.

They are narcissists.

My sis in law will hit her family with a running late text 2-3 times before not showing up at all. They all shrug it off like it's no big deal. To me that type of behavior is insane.

I get along good with all of my in-laws. That said, years ago I did learn a lesson to never go on vacation with them again.

We all went to Disney together and it went like this:

ME: I'm getting up early. I'm planning on being at the gate when early opening hours start so we can ride as many rides in an hour or so as would take us all day when the crowds arrive.

IL's: We can't wake up that early. We sleep a little later.

ME: OK. Just tell me what time and where ya'll want us to meet ya'll in the park.

IL'S: But we all have to stick together. It's a family trip.

ME:

That was about 15-20 years ago and I've never been on vacation with them again.

Finally catch a break this year. As usual my two nephews have been in Shreveport since Saturday doing the hunting thing in Arkansas. The sister in law and bro in law were suppose to fly in last night of course they missed their flight. Reschedule for mid day today An guess what again the flight is missed. I have no doubt she was running late on purpose both times and my bro in law just won’t put her in her place.
All that being said they are officially not coming! What a relief, besides the inlaw’s being extremely pissed off that their money went to waste on the plane tickets.which I’m sure the sister and bro in law will use for some other trip. It’s fried turkey tomorrow! Good times as always

Jesus. I’d do anything for my parents to buy my airline tickets. It’s nearly $800 round trip for 2 to visit my parents

You are dealing with 2 bonified pieces of shite there, baw. In laws bought their tix and they missed the plane twice?

Eff them. I would cancel them out for ever.
