She probably lived life on easy mode most of her life thought everyone thought like her and that she was competent based on her "accomplishments." The real world hits these people like a brick wall and they crash and burn.

There's a lot of overlap in the demo who frequents both, especially the road trip family.
Buc-ees kind of used some of the Cracker Barrel model in terms of the gift shop/quick place to stop/eat concept, but you can also get gas too.
The only CB I will go to now is the one about 10 minutes from my house in Birmingham. Yeah they are right off an interstate exit, but it is in a shopping center on highway 280 and the food and service are still decent. I've been to a few different ones down I65 on road trips in the last few years and none of them are good anymore. We waited a half hour for my boys pancakes one time. I get some things taking longer to cook, but two kids orders of pancakes and bacon should take no longer than 10 minutes. We finally got their food, canceled the adults orders, and paid and left. What used to be a somewhat fast sit down meal has turned into over an hour for basic food.
And you're spot on about Buc-ees. I'd much rather stop there. I can order something, or grab something ready to go, get beef jerky, snacks, drinks, gas, take a picture with a mascot, and buy nice merchandise that isn't crowded into a waiting area of a restaurant.

Being out of touch with the reality of most folks describes most CEOs. The crash and burn though is usually a severance package of 20 million dollars to help them continue to avoid the real world.

She also did an awful job at Taco Bell. Was president of north america from 18-19 and president of international from 20-23. They made some horrendous decisions during those years as well menu wise.

LOL, I deeply admire the founders, but in no sense of the word were they EVER “egalitarian “. They all believed in Jefferson’s “natural aristocracy of talent and taste” from one degree to another, all were wealthy from one degree to another, all of them were adamant about restricting voting to a small sector of eligibility. And none of them frequented common saloons where working men ate. Its highly unlikely that any of them would eat at Waffle House today.

while everyone else was chasing to become something they weren't waffle house has always remained the same. except for that time they raised the price of the All Star special, but being the honest businessmen they are, they will never allow themselve to forget their mistake.

That's what happens everytime a company with an established "Brand" hires someone that is completely disconnected from that brand in every single way to run the company. They immediately alienate whatever loyal client base they have and as "smart" as they are, have absolutely no idea why it's happening.
