There is going to be a dearth of qb talent going soon. Of the last few drafts dating back to 2021 I would say Maye is the only sure fire all pro right now. The Texans are about to be forced to pay CJ Stroud nine figures for slightly above average production. Purdy is going to handcuff the Niners once their 2017-2022 talent ages out. Shough being good could be a big difference maker.

Signing at least one mid tier guard is ideal. Draft one, sign one. I don’t want to risk both spots on draft picks.

The Saints shouldn’t purposely tank for more picks. That’s not what NFL teams do or how you build programs. You posted different examples, ie trading down, which the Saints should do if the opportunity makes sense. If Shough wins 2-3 more games and solidifies himself as Qb1 in the offseason that’s worth being lower in the order.

I know you’re an offseason fan so wins are not really something you concern yourself with.
