You’re being extremely generous.

While I can certainly understand the skepticism regarding his friends.

Skeptical that four preppy white boys could murder a college football player in front of hundreds of partygoers in broad daylight without anyone noticing?

quote:

Those boys were not his friends. I don't mean this in the sense that they did something sinister, but rather , they just didn't care that much. How do you all go somewhere together, but then y'all have non-issue leaving someone behind, without having 100% certainty that said person will have a ride back. Not to mention, the young man's phone was allegedly left on the boat. So he wouldn't have even had a way of contacting anyone. You just don't do that.

Underage drinking — in the heat of summer — on an island — six miles off the coast.

Other posts, which admittedly are just as credible at this point as the racist banter being spewed by the black community, state his friends asked him to go back with them but he wanted to stay WITH OTHER PEOPLE HE KNEW.

Everybody on that island risked their lives that day, they just didn’t know it.

He was reported missing Saturday night and searches by boat began before sunrise. By daylight on the 5th, there were JCSO crews on foot searching the island as well as coast guard crews searching the surrounding area by boat.

Buddy I’m just relaying what is being shared thousands of times across Facebook.

Maybe get your sarcasm meter checked.

it's such the social justice version of fan-fiction. they see a headline and then ouright invent a story to go along with it that matches their skewed worldview and grievance agenda, and then just run with it as if the thing they just made up is a fact.

So are you saying the white boys did not return to the island on July 5th with their parents (one of them being the judge and another being FBI) and move the body to the other side of the island as reported by LaSandra this morning?

Ok, white devil.

Who is going to pitch the 10th?

A rookie making his major league debut, obviously.

was it a sickle cell joke?

Haha no. But a joke nonetheless and probably too soon.

Has OUs catcher always sucked so bad defensively/receiving?

It seems bigger just because it is so much more out there with travel ball and parents that take it way too serious.

It seems bigger because there are 300+ kids in our local rec league just in 7U and 8U, compared to about 100 kids 30 years ago.

Obviously I don’t expect the rest of the country to have those same numbers.

Kids today aren’t playing little league baseball like they were 30+ years ago. This is an issue for baseball.

Srsly? It’s a lot bigger than it was 30 years ago in my neck of the woods.

I think you’re overthinking this.
ChatGBT said WWE is more popular than UFC

That’s all I got.
Looks like he was their Saturday guy, unless he worked his way into Friday later in the year (haven’t checked).

But he was “2026 FIRST-TEAM ALL-SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE PITCHER”
Serna fills a need and brings three years of SEC experience. I’ll take it.

MLB clubs on the other hand have every incentive to develop kids and promote them through the minors as quickly as possible.

Yea but if the kid didn’t sign for $500,000+ they get about a year or two to put up or shut up and then get kicked to the curb like an old recliner.

Then they’re all of a sudden 20 years old, unemployed, girlfriend left them, and they’re a freshman with no eligibility left.

He only played bc Vaughn loved him.

His backup was a freshman — hit .200 and committed 2 errors in 9 appearances… sported a .333 fielding%

Also if you ever got to games early enough to watch warmups, there was a noticeable difference between the two.

But yea Torres only played because Vaughn loved him.

Not trashing Barnett. He was young and has potential. Highly rated out of HS.

College baseball wouldn't fully blow up until they move the start of the season back a month. That's when you get the interest of the midwest and northeast TV markets.

Yep. Move it back a month. And when school is out, do away with the shitty midweek games. Insert more conference games. Develop more pitchers (there’s going to be more pitchers available). Right now a team can get through most of the season with two quality weekend starters.

But in the post season and especially the CWS you really need four good starters and 3-4 good arms out of the pen.

So when school is out and travel is easier, how about two midweek conference games + your regular fri/sat/sun games.

Product would be better, atmosphere would be better. TV would be better.

And do it all with wood bats.
