re: The Portal is Madness

I can’t tell if coaches like it or hate it.

On one hand, they aren’t having to travel the country and stay away from their families for days/weeks at a time recruiting players.

They can just ask them for their routing/account number over the phone now and fly them in for hookers and blow.

But on the other hand it’s non-stop roster management/retention management/salary management, etc.

Can’t really develop life long relationships like you could with players that stuck with you for 4-5 years.

Now one player might be your best friend one year and gone the next. That has to be tough to cope with.

I know I am naive and live a sheltered life, but how is this possible? None of our QBs are in the portal. If they have offers, isn't that tampering?

Tampering penalties are not enforced. I’m not even sure if they’re enforceable at this point.

I’m sure we’ve contacted players that aren’t in the portal as well — at the very least through back channels.

DeBoer will be fired by mid season. It’s pretty much a given at this point the way things are going. Losing star players, getting beaten by Indiana 38-3. Yeah, this is going to end soon.

Are you not entertained with this new version of CFB?

It’s the Wild West.

Different team every year.

You should not get attached to any recruit/transfer that comes on board, because I can assure you 80% of them couldn’t give a shite less about Alabama or having a legacy here.

Do you think Saban would do any better playing the portal?

Answer is no.

That’s why he is on TV now and not on the sidelines.

Guilbeau is a moron.

But is he wrong?

We were told Lane would have his choice of whoever he wanted out of the portal with that huge $25M NIL fund.
“Satire” is written right there in the dudes bio.
If neither of our other QBs gave us a better chance to win than Ty in a wheel chair, then I have big concerns headed into next season if Ty goes to the draft.
Well there’s 25 threads.

7/25 is rookie numbers.

Naw, not 7-5. Just three horrible beatdowns, including the worst bowl beatdown in the school's history...

Yea Alabama’s 44-16 loss to Clemson in 2019 was so much better.
Yall act like Alabama finished 7-5 or some shite.
We’re going to have to pick up a few players from FC Barcelona to finish the season.

Bama is way too high

If only they didn’t beat every team they played below them.

I guess that taps BAMA, and their 4 loss season, out.

I don’t want to be a villain but when LSU fans have bama on their minds 24/7 it’s kinda hard not to.
You have to be relevant in order to be the villain.

He looked confused, multiple times. His first redzone appearance was him bouncing around reads instead of taking his time.

His first meaningful experience came in the Rose Bowl Semi Finals with the season in doubt.

He said himself that he was nervous.

Maybe if we designed some packages for him throughout the year when the offense was sucking arse, he would’ve been more experienced and less nervous.
Why would it take a meeting from Byrne to focus on that.

I’m a bit surprised there haven’t been coaching departure announcements today.

The same "it's just one season "

We were literally among the last 8 teams remaining, you absolute retard.

Are the wheels falling off at UGA too?
With his age, I think Cig should stay at IU.

That should be his legacy.

I just think it’s hilarious that it’s even a possibility that Ole Miss got the better end of the deal.

He has the most talent he will ever have at Alabama right now.

This is just false as far as the RB room, QB, O Line, D Line goes.

Granted it’s partially his fault we had such an overall shitty collection of players at those positions and he refused to try out other players.
We would need to delete all of our posting history from 2019-2022 if that ever happened.

His QB was all-world tonight. His OC might be the best in the country and will be gone in a few weeks.

It’s impressive what they did tonight but can he do it on his own next year and the year after?

Maybe so.

I’ll be pulling for him. Just not against us.
