re: RCP: FBI quietly edits crime stats, crime is actually +4.5%, not -2.1%

So what you are saying is “ ACTUALLY “…
Posted on 10/16/24 at 8:41 am to SlowFlowPro
No you didn’t you were saying the exact opposite to me. You were trying to pin me on an explanation of trends from cities that weren’t reporting stats. If you recall that I kind of mentioned that since they weren’t reporting that it would be hard to report a counter factual on it. Dude you were so sure that crime was decreasing

Relying on facts is special on here these days
Right, so we can expect a very public retraction and apology to Donald Trump from Politifact, right? Because this article is pretty clear that the FBI stats are the most rigorous, expert-backed numbers to go by.
quote:
The FBI data counts crimes reported to local police departments; the victimization survey is based on respondents’ personal recollections.
Researchers say both approaches have value. The FBI data tends to be more rigorous because it is based on formal police reports; its drawback is that not all crimes may be reported to police. (Trump and others have said the FBI data is therefore unreliable, but experts disagree.) The victimization data may capture some of these unreported crimes, but it may also capture events that don’t rise to the level of a crime.
Also, the victimization survey excludes murders, the crime for which officials have the best information overall.
Historically, these two federal metrics have tended to move in tandem, but they didn’t in 2022, for unclear reasons. From 2020 to 2022, a period that largely overlaps with the victimization survey data Trump cited, the FBI data showed violent crime falling by about 4%, rather than rising; it ended up virtually tied with 2019’s prepandemic level.
Now that the FBI has revised their numbers, shouldn't this article be edited to say "Donald Trump was 100% right and there was a rise in violent crime from 2020 to 2022, we rate this True"

Let’s not forget that all of these numbers don’t reflect states like California where if what you steal is less than 900$ they don’t count

He’s not supporting the data as much as he’s highlighting that they tried sneaking an update in that has a 6% swing in numbers. Argue the subject and quit trying to go sideways with the narrative

The evolution of political debate:
Reasoning, logic, philosophy, ethics/morals, ancedotes...
Demanding statistics and inferences from studies...
Manipulation/biased studies from each side...
Manipulation of government statistics to win the immediate argument...
News converted to "news," providing opinions to manipulate the masses... (this has always been the case, but it's exaggerated and more obvious now)
I see all of the above now as the noise of political theater. It's still important because it defines the culture and how we interact with each other, but the bigger threats are entrenched deep state bureaucrats, three letter agencies, and globalists. Your government killed JFK. If that doesn't bring some clarity as to the forces at play, you're dying your hair blue right now.
There are too many useful idiots. It's time for right-minded free-thinkers to get in the game and fight for their ideals. Not gonna lie, we're losing.

As one would expect you missed the meaning of “special kind of person “. Narcissist much?

Cities have a pretty good idea of their violent crime data in real time.
And a pretty big incentive ($$$$) to "qualify" those numbers downward as much as they can.

Needed those debate fact checks.
Posted on 10/16/24 at 8:46 am to Ingeniero
These statistics are meaningless because there are several cities and municipalities that simply quit reporting. I suspect the actual numbers are much worse.

Why doe the post make it seem like they're talking about 2024?
Only a moron would read 2022 and think they are referring to 2024. Just like only a moron would believe anything this administration says when major populations centers like LA or NYC are reporting and their record in manipulating economic data. I mean let’s tout job creation when 3/5’s of that creation was replacing jobs lost during Covid with cheap illegal immigrant labor. Let’s say crime is down when there are daily stories about NYC issues we all see!

If that's how you conceptualize correcting lies, sure.
For a person who claims to seek the truth, you seem to have no problem promoting misfits.

The Cultural Marxists, the Gaslight Media and their Bureaucratic State enablers have destroyed any notion that integrity and honor exists in any major US institution.

A bug, it is not.

We all know that 3.7 seconds after Trump's inauguration that all those blue cities that withheld stats from the FBI during Joetato's administration will magically start reporting.

One of the big reasons no one on here respects you is that, once you take your contrarian little position, you’ll argue on it forever and never admit you were wrong- even when you clearly are. There’s no good faith debate with you. You have such little respect for the forum’s intelligence that you believe you can debate the sky into being green.
You live your entire sad little life on here semi-anonymously and still no one likes you. That has to be a tough pill to swallow.

The FBI needs to be completely shut down and the building bulldozed.

I don’t even read your posts, so weary am I of the semi- professional and manic gaslighting. But I’m guessing you used the word “ Actually “ and then told errybody that they too could be bigly smart if only they had 4 hours to wade through your indispensable wisdom.
Too much time here for me already, friend.
