re: So I got bored and started playing with numbers - I20goon
The one's I'd want to see out of personal curiosity: - Mike Bloomgren as OC at Stanford (not at Rice) - Brian Wright, Toledo - Tim Drevno, formerly MI OC, USC RB coach (was OL coach too)...

re: I know we want multiple WR sets and all that, but O is right. We really aren't there yet. - I20goon
We really aren't there yet.
I agree. The problem isn't ONLY the OL. The WRs are an issue too, and it's more than just drops (releases, route running, tree decisions, hots, etc). So here's how I see it in the framework of "aren't there yet": If the WRs were more experienced and/or...

re: Miles unethical negotiation at LSU - I20goon
I don't know who posted what you quoted but what is it that some people don't understand about contracts. LSU owed (legally) Les $6.5 Million. Les could have sat on the couch, done his podcasts with Smacker(his daughter), who is a really good sports journalist, and collected said $6.5 million...

re: History of 5 star backs - I20goon
Going back to the class of 2008, 13 of 23 5* RBs were not drafted. Worth noting several UDFA's made rosters. (using 247) Roc Thomas Michael Dyer Keith Ford Thomas Tyner (retired in college- medical) Derrick Green Darrell Scott Jermie Calhoun Richard Samuel Johnathan Gray Rushel Shell ...

re: Ty Davis starting to like Penn St? - I20goon
I'm pretty sure Etienne was a result of the policy of not offering in-state recruits unless absolutely, 100%, no doubt, there was room and they were a take. That long-standing Miles policy, maybe I should say preference because there were exceptions, was so that no in-state kids ended up getting ...

re: Coach O would’ve never pulled the stunt Applewhite did tonight. - I20goon
Notice that in that video when walking towards the locker room no other players were coming to EO's defense and he even got into a little shoving match with #15. That's a big hint as to all involved mindset. Appears the team kind of feels like Major does. While it seems kind of silly about ...

re: Coach O would’ve never pulled the stunt Applewhite did tonight. - I20goon
No decent person would. Sad Oliver wasted his college career at that crap hole.
that's why you don't commit to coaches. Not only did Herman leave, he went there or one of the reasons he went there was because Herman hired one of his HS coaches. Which, I wonder if he's even still ther...

re: Are we recruiting any juco offensive tackles this year? - I20goon
lol, all true Ace... all of it. I will say this, for his size and frame Kardell moves exceptionally well. If he had more length what could've been. I'll also note he has some of the best technique, especially hands, that I've ever seen in a high schooler. He's light years ahead of your average...

re: Are we recruiting any juco offensive tackles this year? - I20goon
Do you think that Deculus can hang on at right tackle or will he be moved to guard?
Firstly, I think that Deculus is progressing nicely. He gets better with every rep. Secondly, it will be hard for him to hang on IF Rosenthal reaches his full potential. His upside is huge. T...

re: LSU Injuries Crazy High - I20goon
Well, one factor, albeit a secondary one is that our starters are having to play all 4 qtrs because we face comebacks or deficits every 3rd qtr (except OM). Starters are more recognizable names + more minutes on field + 4th qtr minutes (fatigue) = more recognizable injuries...

So many things in this gif... I'll just go down the list. 1. Great example of how you defeat plus-protection (including max-protect). RB stays in, goes left, LB reads, goes O-right, sack. 2. Guice should've read the LB, just li...

re: Reliable method for finding up and coming offensive coaching talent - I20goon
Have him review game film and put together a simulated game call sheet noting both the utilization of players and strategy tree for each series (e.g. dig routes to Dillon for setup for stop/go route if CBs move up). I.e., put together "a game" of film (various opponents laced together) and have ...

Edit: Roger that whitefoot, corrected
OL is probably the biggest jump in difficulty from high school to college because of the mental leap
this I agree with. I don't think people realize that OT, and center, are the most difficult and technical positions on the field behind QB. ...

re: Rivals article summed up in a nutshell what has been LSU's recruiting Issue - I20goon
On the OL, especially OT, you're not regularly going to find impact freshmen. Cam Rob started several games at OT for Bama and as did Tunsil at Ole Miss, and they struggled. The key to the OL recruiting is pipeline. You can't skip years or under-recruit the numbers. You can't have too many "...
If we win out that makes us 10-2. You don't replace a soul with that kind of record, especially in the SEC.
