However, in this case Paul will be portrayed in the media as a Trump ally and ultra-conservative if it delays opening the government.

If it does go through, Paul will be an independent minded libertarian and Trump resistance fighter to paint the Dims in the best possible light.

With a tariff you have a choice to not buy from outside the borders/restrictions of the tariff. They are also based on the rate of consumption, the more you consume/purchase the more you pay.

A tax is imposed and you don't have a choice unless you want to face the penalties. Ours, income taxes at least, are progressive. The more you make, the more you pay.

So for all the "tariffs are a tax" people you have it backwards.

Taxes are more like internal (referencing the border) tariffs than tariffs are like taxes.

I had the opposite experience in Houston area. Especially one in Pasadena.

For the Dims, they are refusing to approve continuing to use the Biden budget which they have done in the past.

For the R's, they are voting to continue to use the Biden budget despite the OBBB being passed.

Both are trying to circumvent the OBBB.
