South Carolina pulled off a major SEC upset Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 11 Tennessee, 27-24, on a game-winning field goal as time expired at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

Gamecocks kicker Malik Orsan connected on a 48-yard field goal to seal the victory after South Carolina's defense forced a crucial Tennessee fumble in the final minute.

Quarterback LaNorris Sellers led the way for the Gamecocks, throwing for 210 yards and a touchdown while adding 96 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

South Carolina jumped out to an early 14-0 lead before Tennessee responded with 21 points in the second quarter to take a 21-17 halftime advantage.

The Volunteers extended their lead to 24-17 in the fourth quarter, but Sellers answered with a 4-yard touchdown run to tie the game with just over a minute remaining.

Tennessee quarterback George MacIntyre then lost a fumble with 33 seconds left, setting up Orsan's game-winning kick.

The loss was especially frustrating for Tennessee, which had three touchdown passes called back because of penalties during the game.

South Carolina improved to 4-3 overall with the victory, while Tennessee dropped to 6-2 on the season.
