Yep. Sucking next year is probably a good thing
There were reports out of Colorados pro day that Prime wouldn’t allow NFL scouts to run through their drills with Shadeur. Prime dictated what drills he would and would not run. Huge red flag.
You get as many starters as you can and take a QB next draft where you’ll surely have a top 5 pick and several MUCH better qb options to choose from

This season is a classic tank year
Shough’s girl is hot af. So there actually is one good thing about this pick.
We just don’t have that kind of time with Shough. That’s kinda his point

The safest path was to land another badly needed starter and address QB next year.
I’m saying there are 4 or 5 guys in the 2026 class that are better prospects than Shough RIGHT NOW.

Not sure why you keep avoiding that point.
You are making your case with outliers. No one denies there are outliers. Odds of success is the issue.
Can we all agree that we hope he kills it?
Can we also all agree that if he doesn’t show major promise in year one, we will be forced to use our #1 on another QB?

Thats all he’s saying.
If you can’t objectively see that QBs anywhere outside of the top half of the first round have the single lowest odds of success of all positions in the NFL than perhaps you shouldn’t be commenting on the matter, or you should watch more football.
It means the player was a net upgrade for the drafting team according to PFF metrics.
Your optimism is admirable. But it’s still just optimism

ETA: and you glossing over the 26 prospects that are better than Shough right now, didn’t go unnoticed
The issue is, all drafts arent equal. We have a potentially huge qb class coming next year with whats sure to be a top 5 pick.

There’s 4 or 5 guys in 2026 that are already better prospects than Shough, AND they aren’t old, AND they aren’t injury prone.

Now you’ve got 12% odds he pans out when you could have drafted one of 5 positions with more than double that hit rate in day 2. And you only have a year to find out if he’s worth a damn.

There’s 12.8% hit rate on day 2 quarterbacks.

There’s no way to put odds on this so idk
There are many pumpers here who will gladly be your Huckleberry
Then you are fine with finding one less starter every single year.
I hope like hell he is, but I’m a numbers guy.

What are the odds that he’s solid enough in year one to make us pass on Nuss, Allar, or possibly Manning?
Exactly. He has to start and look great, this season.
