I don't understand people's obsession with the sun going down after 8pm. That just causes us to use more energy in the south. I'd love for sunset to be at 7:30 right now like it should be instead of of 8:30.

One hour does make a difference and depression rates would go down during the winter months.

What about the extra hour of darkness in the morning…

It doesn’t make daylight any longer, just moves the clock.

Can’t wait to hear the parents bitch about their kids waiting for the school bus in the dark like last time, and like last time it will be repealed and go back to the normal DST like back in the 70’s..

They've done stupid shite like this before and it was an absolute failure. Going to have more States keep Standard Time all year round, because the logistics won't work, especially in fall and winter

It wouldn't bother me as much as in the evening especially during the winter months as it is so cold that you can't do much outside.

Now when the temperatures are tolerable, that extra hour gives you more time to do things outside.

This is an absolutely awful idea
This shite was figured out decades ago
What about the time change twice a year is so troubling?

It's going to take about 5 minutes for people to start bitching about having to wake up when it is still dark outside and kids waiting at bus stops/starting school in the dark because sunrise is at 8:00 am+

Can start school later. We didn't start middle school until 9:15 am.

Some studies suggest kids don't learn as well early in the morning. You have like a jet lag because of the way melatonin releases when developing.

Well-rested teens have lower rates of depression and anxiety. There is also evidence of reduced absenteeism, less tardiness, and, perhaps most strikingly, a significant reduction in teen motor vehicle accidents.

I dont understand the parent who is afraid of the dark in the morning.

You lose 2 hours and 5 minutes of sunlight during the year. For most parents, it is dark in December even with standard time. You dont hear those parents crying today about the dark.

What kind of puss would have a hissy fit over something that most Americans deal with every day (waking up before sunrise).

2026 American truly wants to relearn every hard learned lesson of the last 150 years or so.

Might as well add this to the list.

all those people who work outside. In the middle of the winter it will be dark until damn near 9AM if DST is made permanent.

I work outside and look forward to sleeping in during winter and it not getting dark at 4 pm

Heaven help us all. He already disrupted the US national soccer team. He has US in an endless unwinnable war. He's taken control of the currency. Heck even the one game the Knicks lost in the NBA Finals was the game he attended. What else can he pollute?

Been there, done that. We all collectively hated it so much it lasted one year.

The same or similar will happen this time to.

The absurd fake outrage over taking 90 seconds to reset the oven and microwave clocks twice a year is hilarious to me.

Nothing relevant in society has changed relative to what the issue was. People on the eastern part of the time zones get fricked over, and everyone hates DST during the winter months because of the mornings.

That sounds like a good time to clock in.

Sweet. You’re not clocking out until 7pm either though.

People complaining that it gets dark too early in the winter.

These people are going to be so pissed when they realize it’s still going to be getting dark as they get home from work because the days are just fricking shorter.

For most people, it is 9 to 5 for five days a week.

But you knew that.

8 to 6 on a 4 day schedule.

One thing that hasn’t changed is day light hours. Children going to school in darkness is problem. Modern technology cannot change that.

We tried this already. In the wintertime you won't like it.
