Florida Could Be Without Starting QB Aaron Philo Against Texas On Saturday

USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect
Florida starting quarterback Aaron Philo's status is uncertain for Saturday's matchup against Texas due to a shoulder injury.
According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, Philo has been limited in practice this week and is questionable to play against the Longhorns.
If Philo is unable to play, backup quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. is expected to start for the Gators.
Philo, a transfer from Georgia Tech, has completed 70.5% of his passes for 1,341 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions this season. He has also rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns.
Jones has appeared in limited action this season, completing 23 of 29 passes for 252 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Florida (4-2, 2-2 SEC) has lost two straight games after starting the season 4-0. The Gators will travel to Austin to face No. 7 Texas on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
