To be honest either standard time all year long, or daylight time all year long is preferable to changing from one to another in spring and fall.

The "daylight savings time" became a thing sometime in the 1950's -- early '60s. I think the original intent of it had something to do with agriculture

I feel like humans solved time 1000s of years ago. Why are we always fricking with the time? Just let it be the real time all year round and stop messing with shite.

I don't think that the Senate will pass this because they will figure out that, once we have Permanent DST, people will be fed up with it and hate it after a few years of spending much of the early day in the pre-dawn twilight.

Did the house pass a similar bill a few years ago and the Senate sat on it?

I’d ask Hallie Schoffner how she feels but she doesn’t respond to my emails. But damn you Tom

It's always nice to get off work at 5:00 PM and it is already dark.

But it will be dark by 6, that hour of dusk will allow a lot of productivity.

It became apparent very quickly that without standardized time in our states things got squirrelly.

Phones automatically update to timezones.

It isn't the 1940s anymore.

We already have timezones. Changing from one zone to another isn't rocket science and to pretend that it is ignores the current realities of society.

One hour does make a difference and depression rates would go down during the winter months.

You laugh.

But everyone with a child involved in after school programs knows what can be done in that hour.

Every golfer knows what can be done in that hour (insert tennis, running, soccer, outdoor basketball, or whatever sport you want).

Im sure that those who netflix every night dont give a damn. But if they dont give a damn, let there be another hour of light.
