Because it getting dark at 615 instead of 515 is critical outside time in the middle of winter

Yes, 1 extra hour in the evening is way more impactful then the morning regardless if it extended sunlight from 5 to 6 or 6 to 7 anytime of the year. You can do a lot with that. It's irrelevant in the morning, I have lights inside my house and my garage, I have climate control, my kids carpool, so it doesn't matter at all.

I guess the classic school bus stop argument is the only thing that makes any rational sense; that and being a contrarian.

Hope so. In the south, the construction season can last all winter. Dont want my guys standing around in the dark waiting to work.

Here we go with the muh kids and workers in the dark. Adjust start times.

We should have never had this bullshite two times a year thing.

There are more goings on.

People live. In different timezones. In the same city. In the same state.

There is this amazing ability for people to tell time appropriately.

This notion of mass confusion is idiotic at best. Intentionally contrarian at worst.

Lol. Chaos over time zones.

It won’t pass in the senate because someone will attach a funding bill for high speed rail or something like that.

the only way to fix this is a Mad Max style Thunderdome between the biggest DST and ST supporters

The part that gets me...

Kids and workers go to school and work in the dark in the winter even on standard time.
This notion that it is unpossible is funny to me when it happens every day in the winter now with our split standard/daylight savings.

"I can't have my kids waiting for the bus in the dark!"

Fred's kids have been doing it for 12 years. So get over your weak excuses.

Ironically, one of those sides is afraid of the dark that they can't permit federalism.

Which one do you think wins Thunderdome style?

Great if you live in the south.

Not great if you live in the north.

With an armed civilian populous, I like Georgia's chances.

Georgia is 3rd in guns per capita and 18th in guns per household.

And we aren't afraid of the dark in the mornings.

I'm referencing the two other times that DST took effect nation wide and was promptly reversed again

Because some are saying people will wake up to darkness. Some are claiming crops will be affected. Some complain just to complain because Trump wants this...

Georgia will switch to central time zone if it comes to this.

The same effect.

The federal government can "not be the problem" or they can keep getting into their own way pissing everyone off.

It is a question of what type of expectations do you have for your national politicians.

My recollection is that sone people in Florida pushed the end of it when a couple of schoolkids were hit by cars in the morning darkness.

I’ve heard a similar story.

However, kids in my neighborhood are waiting for their school bus at 5:45 a.m. It’s dark at that time regardless of whether Standard or DLS is in effect.

Highly productive people wake up early and need sunlight. Only losers don't need sun until 9.
