India would be smart to take advantage of this situation between us and China.

Offer us what we get from China (cheap goods) but with better trade policies and not constantly try to steal our IP and undermine us.

There is a strategy. It’s to get better trade deals. The goal is to bring back manufacturing for important items that are crucial to national security I.e food production, steel, aluminum, semiconductors, automobiles, energy. A lot of these items can be ramped back up pretty fast because there are several idle/shutdown plants already built that just need to be revamped.

We aren’t going back to producing cheap plastic household widgets and such that line the shelves of target and Walmart. When a deal is made, tariffs on those goods will be reduced or dropped. And other nations will have to drop tariffs on goods that we can produce and export.
