I'm sure the senate will frick this up.

Well that's fine ... as long as it's DST 12 months/ year, 24 hours a day

Why would the Senate bollix it if the House approved it by a 3:1 margin?

Ridiculous. We tried this in the 70’s or 80’s. They rolled it back after a few months.
Compromise at a half hour.

This is gonna suck for a lot of people, especially those who live on the east side of time zone borders.
Sunrise won't be until after 8 am in the winter in Knoxville, TN. With latest sunrise at 8:45.
Was anyone on here alive the last time the US tried permanent saving time in the 70s?

Because RINOs are afraid of their own shadow

Oh then hell...we tried something 40 years ago and no way has society changed at all in that time so we might as well not try it again

How bout voting to eliminate income taxes? Nobody would care about the change in time.

And that's why it should remain standard time year round. Without DST it still doesn't get dark in the middle of the summer until 8:30 PM.
I can tell you the people who are not gonna be happy if it's permanent DST, all those people who work outside. In the middle of the winter it will be dark until damn near 9AM if DST is made permanent.

Not sure that I like this. I’m a traditionalist.

That sounds like a good time to clock in.

Yes...but the sun and changing seasonal tilt of the earth hasn't changed in 40 years.
It's going to take about 5 minutes for people to start bitching about having to wake up when it is still dark outside and kids waiting at bus stops/starting school in the dark because sunrise is at 8:00 am+

Oh no....

I honestly like the other version. They should make that permanent.

If I was in an office environment I probably wouldn't mind either way, you're either gong to be driving to work in the dark or driving home in the dark. A lot of construction workers that I've known through the years like the early start and early off. Pretty common for construction workers to begin work at 7AM and they're off by 3:30-4PM.

Hopefully they will, it's shite. We don't need darkness at 8 AM, so a few goofballs can play golf for 30 more minutes. Oh, and they can't play with their kids b/c it's dark. It's bullshite, Standard Time all year please.

This concept confuses.
When my eyes are closed, it is dark.
My windows are closed.
I havent had coffee yet.
I dont have any clue what is going on outside when I wake up. Nor do I care. Im inside.
I wake up 3am, 4am. And 5 am all of the time.
Never once have I been pissed off that the sun wasn't up yet.
