Are homophobic slurs worse than racist slurs?

Should an owner get banned for life for calling someone a f@g (like Kobe did on camera)? Not even sure if Sterling used a racial slur, but is an anti-gay word considered just as bad? Equal?

And yes, what Jim Irsay did was way worse as well. He broke the law and endangered people's lives.

Depends on the race of the person that makes the remark.

Someone doesn't have to be gay to be a fig. Some people are just figs, and the word needs to be used when someone deserves it.

The term "homophobic" is the worst.

No, being gay is a choice and homos go to Hell... according to the bible .

In all seriousness, gay people dont have a leader like Al Sharpton to fear... i would assume they arent as prevelant in sports as African Americans are either.

It wouldn't be the same, unfortunately, especially since the African American community tends to have a more hostile view of the LGBT community (at least, that's the public perception).

Ever heard of the gay mafia? The former CEO of Mozila had to step down recently because he donated $1000 in support of DOMA back in 2008, before Barack Obama was for gay marriage.

No because people don't choose to be black, but they do choose to be gay.

Right?

1. Donald Sterling didn't use a racial slur.

2. Discrimination against gays doesn't have anywhere near the horrific history of discrimination against African Americans.

3. Being uncomfortable with gay is still semi-acceptable in society. Being uncomfortable with someones skin is not.

Don't blink, because 10 years from now, "black" will be a racial slur.

double standard written all over it.

It is a derogatory term just as much as the n-word is.

Or are you saying a gay person's "feelings" aren't on an equal level to a black person's "feelings"
