Donald Sterling is a moron but didn't deserve this

I don't like what Donald Sterling said one bit and I think he is a backwards a-hole that needs to realize this isn't the 19th century.
However, as a legal expert, I think it is plain wrong that the NBA is banning him for life. He wasn't standing in front a podium on live TV announcing his true feelings, he was in his home, in private, being set up by his MIXED girlfriend.
Not to mention, he never said he hated blacks or even used any derogatory words.
List of Players that have done much worse and never got banned for life.
Ron Artest - Walked into the stands and PUNCHED A FAN - 86 game suspension
Latrell Sprewell - Chocked his head coach and threatened him - 82 game suspension that was reduced to 68 because it was overturned during arbitration
Tom Payne - Convicted of one count of rape, two counts of attempted rape, and aggravated sodomy - Left the NBA to serve time in prison, NEVER suspended or even banned.
Ruben Patterson - Attempted rape on his in-house nanny - Sentenced to jail for one year (served only 15 days) - RETURNED to the NBA and played another 8 seasons

tadelatt - You do know that this is not the first thing that Sterling has done that he was disciplined for don't you? He has a history.

Well as a consolation he does have billions he can fall back on so don't feel too bad for him.
