re: Nike's stock is down 75% over the past 5 years
Posted by htran90 on 8/18/26 at 12:17 am to StansberryRules
My cousin is a Nike exec and I can tell you nike's issue is and was their neglect in comfort, running, and athletic wear.
People quit caring about how a shoe looks when utility and comfort became paramount. Nobody gives a frick about looks if the shoes hurt my feet after a mile run. I'm on my feet for 10+hrs a day and my feet ache, only to do it again - vs not in brooks, asics, or hokas.
Let's not go into the part where they let Lululemon, etc get into their market.
Their mistake was thinking they were the best and read the market wrong. They have warehouses full of pandas, in the prime you could never find it. Now you have to pay someone to take them from store. Nice shoes. Also uncomfortable as hell.

re: Trade Rattler for a mid to late round draft pick?

Some team might give up a 7th round because he has starting experience. But mid? Hahahaha no.
re: Is Brunson better than Luka?

Brunson had some clutch af 4th quarters - reminded me of Jamal Murray's playoff runs.
But let's not be ridiculous of the comparison.
OG and bridges are both top 10 sf right now
Kat is still a top 5 center
Hart is a positive starter

We're not carrying 3 qbs, neither of Wilson or rattler are talented enough to risk losing a potential contributor on the ps. I'm more inclined to believe we sneak Wilson on there rather than rattler too.

from top to bottom --- this is not the same LSU that promised him anything. JD5 tyfys, but the reality is there's nobody in the FO, AD, or HC that were affiliated with the regimen that promised you such things

Steve Keim looks like a scam artist...
quote:
“We were engaged in a lot of conversations with a lot of different teams,” Dumars said.
“But at the end of the day, you’ve got to make a determination if this is the right deal or not. You don’t want to make a move for the sake of making a move. It has to be right for us…. When you’re presented with deals that you can do, you’ve got to make a determination if this is going to make you better and add what you need,” Dumars added.
“The lack of moves being made right now is not from a lack of effort or us deciding we didn’t want to do anything. We’ve engaged with a lot of teams this offseason. But there was just no big deal that I felt was going to make us better for us to pull the trigger on.”
The pro is, the exact opposite occured last year.
- Rushed into trades you didn't need to. ultimately lost out on 2 top 10 picks
Which growth is realizing your mistake and not compounding it. The frustration part is we're left wtih the same team and a wasted year to regroup & build up the value to trade.
Easily one of the most complete and utter domination I've witnessed. You legit made the goat coach and goat qb quit. They had 0 answers.
To be fair, A'ja wilson is pretty damn good, but give me a team of the #1 and #3 recruit (Southeastern prep) and they'll prob be better than the LV Aces.
#1 CJ Rosser 6'9 PF
#3 Beckham Black 6'3 PG
#67 Marri Wesey 6'6 SF

Miller doesn't make the final 53 IMHO. even if he is healthy
Ruiz got paid and completely mailed it in, fricking a-hole is so bad

Walker torn acl
Pearce and legal issues
Huge blow to their defense

As someone who collects cards, sells, and trades --- the sheer fact I had to be so aware of my booth was annoying. kids trying to be slick. adults trying to do a slight of hand. having to know my big card that are graded - serial #s
fricking scum.
fricking scum.

consider this:
24 years old
6mil in career earnings (lets say if you did it right, take home of 3mil)
sometimes guys just don't have that dog in em to fight anymore if they're a fringe player.

re: I’m trying not to get too excited…

I'm excited we have potential. I don't expect us to be some 12+ win team, but just the mere fact we're playoff caliber potential has been a nice change of pace since it was like 5 years of purgatory.

Olave just said yup pay me. Sucks for bresee was hoping to see a big year considering we drafted better NT prospects
The silver lining is Broughton will now have to step up and he looked good before his own injury last year.

a few days ago, Nic Scourton LB for the Panthers blew his ACL out.
Done for the season.
I remember wanting him last year.
They're now being investigated too.
His peak defense was what 5 years ago and has regressed every year since. But even at that cost it's still value to the ream rather than him not being there, their issue is honestly Jimmy being injured and Jimmy being paid 50mil

The bar is what Tyler Huntley? If you can't even overcome that or get close to compete, we got issues.
