The Chris Paul veto - think the NBA regrets it now?

For "basket ball reasons" they kept Chris Paul from the Lakers to build the clippers.

Now, the NBA's biggest cash cow - L.A. - is taking hits with both teams these days.

Some of these owners will be kicking themselves when the big revenue divy comes this year.

No, that "veto" was better for the value of the New Orleans franchise by not piling bad contracts on it. That resulted in a higher sales price and profit for the owners who collectively owned the franchise.

Do you even remember what the deal was? Basically, it was Luis Scola and a tall crackhead for Chris Paul.

No, they really won't. They'll make fistfuls of cash.

I dont think the Clippers are regretting it, and they seem to be doing just fine in attendance and popularity (outside of their owner).

Does it bother you that they covered up all of Kobe's banners in the staple's center?

Paul has nothing to do with this hit. If he was on the Lakers, theyd still suck and Sterling would still hate the black man.

Didn't Chris Paul say he wants the Clippers to hire a black coach?

UFA and role player.

ETA - As a Hornets/Pelicans fan, I almost lost my shite when that trade was announced. I called it awful the minute I saw it. Had I been owner or GM, I would have vetoed it myself.

That team would've had a decent shot at the playoffs which is a lot better than the team has done since then. Since it seems the goal is playoff appearances I don't think the fanbase would be all that disappointed.

Dude sucked, so nothing to really be suspicious about. If there is anything to be suspicious about its why the hell Mike Dunleavy coached there for so long.

Well, the "fanbase" tends to appreciate the veto. The people who are outraged by it are Lakers fans, Houston fans, and similar mouth-breathers like Bill Simmons.

Also, as a Houston fan, you revel in mediocrity. The Pelicans are building something bigger.

I reckon you don't know many Houston fans. Clearly HOU would much rather have a broken down Gasol over a top 5 player in Harden.
