42*. No one is sneaking in there. It’s like pulling teeth to get them to get in for 5 minutes.

Who funds West Monroe’s facilities?

Penny tax for the parish. Everyone is getting brand new everything. Sterlington new fieldhouse, West Ouachita new track/soccer fieldhouse as well as new stadium and just got new turf for softball and baseball fields, WM got the sports medicine and covered practice field, and Ouachita got a new fieldhouse with new turf for football, baseball, and softball fields. Not sure what Richwood is getting.

The last 3 years we've been severely hampered by the wet bulb. Literally have to practice at 5am or not at all, while watching other schools in the area magically be able to continue on with afternoon practices like nothing ever changed. This will allow us to be able to practice no matter the weather.

Where in the hell has that been all year?

Did the use of ABS force the umps to have a better zone?

They need to control the artificial noise makers next year, and I don't really know any other way to control them without simply banning them.

Clear bag policy and flat out banning them is really the only way.

I’d go with Catholic. I wonder how Catholic would have fared in a bracket with no split the past 4 seasons though.

They went 9-0 against WM and most of those were blowouts.

IMO Johnson is the best pitcher in the state.

Did he have grade issues? When you say a Co-Lin commit is better than LSU commits throwing 95 from the left side, grades is the first thing I think of as to why. Just wondering.

Ruston’s RB. Sorry, name has escaped me.

I usually downplay kids I've seen in person. Meh he's aight, I don't think he will explode on the scene at the next level. It will take several years for him to acclimate. Etc.

Not with this kid. He's legit. He's better than advertised. He basically singlehandedly beat WM last year...and didn't play the second half. He had 2 rushing, 1 punt return, and 1 kick return for touchdowns in the first half. They won 48-44. WM lost 2-3 games the last 20 years in Freshmen football. One of those was him again by himself. 20-14 winner. He had a pick 6 at safety, another pick, and two rushing touchdowns.

If he doesn't break his leg against WM, Ruston wins state EASILY last year. I really hope he goes to LSU. He's a game changer.

What kid from Ms? If you have any info. Just curious who it might be.

I know they had a kid die the year they won state. They carried his jersey everywhere. There were a lot of parallels in the Dome with his number 33.

Westlake had one big inning aided by some bunts and bad defense.

That’s how Central beat that WM team with Pearson, Taylor Young, Slade, etc. 11 of them went to college. It was a walk, two bunts for errors, and 1 hit total for 4 runs. That team was like 40-3…lost 4-2 in a single game.
The entire town backed Spat. Lead protests to keep him. They absolutely love him.

There has got to be more to this. Why would a state champion football coach step down to be a vice principal at a middle school?

Because your retirement is based on your 3 highest paid years. That's why they all get into admin before retiring. Also why schools have way too more VPs than the past
They had some Arcadia 8th grader announce he's committing to Ruston. Yes, I'm serious.

Dutchtown had WM beat a few years ago before Hawsey hit a walk off 3 run bomb. They're more than capable of winning it all. Should be a great series.

What are people thinking on Dutchtown vs Sam Houston Series?

How does Sam Houston handle pregame for the state championships? Watching Barbe not only sleep in their own beds, but go to their facility for meetings/get warmed up/etc. before taking a 10 minute bus ride seems like a massive advantage over being in a hotel for 3-4 days. Obviously it's not the end all/be all, but in a toss up matchup between these two teams, it could be a factor. Dutchtown seems on fire and obviously not afraid of anyone. I'll take the home team in this one.

Not at all. HUGE Gap in D2 NS and D1 NS. Every year you have teams who would host in D2 finishing in the 28-32 range and not making the playoffs in D1.

Like I said...No Barbe's in D2/D3 NS.

8 runs on a Friday night in the SEC should win 10 times out of 10.
