Beamon's stood for close to 25 IIRC. I remember being up late at night watching the Worlds in '91 continuing to root for Lewis to break the record he wanted so badly and Powell took his thunder. Lewis had his PB in the same meet but didn't beat Beamon IIRC he was just about an inch off.
