Verge said it about football...and I am sure it applies to all sports. He ALWAYS has a list of potential coaches ready should something happen with the current coach. Do you think TODAY is the first day that Verge will think about finding a MBB coach? I guarantee he has a group of coaches in mind and has probably been putting out informal feelers for at least a month.

If Verge is competent, the search should've started 2-3 months ago putting out feelers, gauging interests etc.
