Other than not working there wouldn't be that much changing. I'm a simple guy. The main thing that would change is I'd buy a bunch of land in places I like to hunt.

True, but keeping names private removes a lot of transparency and opens a state-run lottery up to all kinds of behind-the-scenes frickery. Especially in a state like Louisiana.
Maybe a comprise would be that you can only get names through a state FOIA request or something like that.

In fairness, someone who is playing the lotto most likely isn’t some paragon of financial stewardship compared to the person who is asking them to share their windfall.
Whether you say no or you say yes isn’t really relevant. Your relationship with your friends and family will never be the same, likely for the worse. So it’s best for everyone involved to keep it to yourself.

I never buy lotto tickets b/c statistically literate. However, bought 1 during the first
$1+ billion days.
Reflecting on if we were to win it how much worry & stress this would add to our lives, I got a small panic feeling.
Then, I came to…realizing that it was more irrational to think we could ever win so just think how irrational I might be if we did ever win.
Put those lotto ticket $ in a mutual fund or stripper’s waistband. Far better for your mind.

Surprised that anyone can think they will stay anonymous. I think you have to go to lottery HQ and officially claim money. As in you can't send your lawyer to do it for you. Just what I remember hearing.

No one I know would be able to find me for me to tell them.
My only problem is that I never buy lottery tickets which severely reduces my chances of winning.

I would be forced to keep quiet, if I wanted the rewards. My wife is such a giving person, she would immediately order new check books and start sending them to almost everyone she knows, who has less.

I would have no problem with not telling anyone.
I would have a slightly nicer home, nothing crazy, but decent. Travel. Ability to do whatever I want but standard of living wouldn't change drastically.
