Charles Barkley was asked for advice to give newly rich NBA players. His advice was simply “learn to say no.”

That much and I wouldn’t work. Would definitely volunteer in areas of interest and donate to several local good rescues, and be available to help with my grand children often as needed. I’d do the usual and make sure the kids’ home are paid off and open trusts for them and invest most. Travel, some. At my age, extravagant material possessions don’t mean much, can’t take them with me when I pass. I like to give so I’d probably have to be careful there.

One of my pipe dreams was to win the lottery, but not tell anyone. Then, the first time something at work pissed me off, my response would be, "frick this!" and just walk out. I've been retired for ten years and it never happened. Oh, well. Life is still good.

Why the hell would I want people to know that I won the lottery?

I love my mom but she’d be the last person I’d tell. I’d have to find a way to help her without her knowing it was me.

I wouldn’t tell anyone. But also wouldn’t care if they knew.

I'd open up a lawn care business and mow grass the rest of my life and no one would know anything.

No need. It would be his separate property. Just keep in a separate account for easy financial forensics.

My family and several close friends would know because they will get life changing money from me! After that, I would remodel my current house and keep it for memories, build a house or two in other states, travel just a bit, and be a philanthropist of sorts.
I don’t see a need for going on the news and making an announcement.

No. I have that kind of money. I'm getting some steam
Dream cars a few nice houses and taking some epic vacations.
I always wanted to but my own train.

I would be concerned if I won a huge amount of money. I’m not sure I can enjoy that kind of wealth. You would have to think about you and your family’s safety wherever you go.
Just how much money do you really need? Just a few million would be enough for me and maybe it would keep the bad guys away.

I'm glad you made this thread so that I can finally tell the world.

Would only tell my immediate family.
If anyone else asked why I retired early or bought new property, I'm just saying I inherited some family money and leaving it at that.

Yes, he would.

Won't ever happen cuz I don't buy Lotto tickets. Lol
But if I did win, I could absolutely keep it quiet, outside of telling my children.
Folks would know something was up once I started buying new trucks, boat, etc. Lol

The lottery will release the name of the winner after a certain period of time.
The name of the largest lottery winner in history ($1.7 billion) was released a couple of weeks ago. It was the lottery drawing last Christmas Eve.

I’d have to tell my wife. My wife wouldn’t be able to resist telling anyone else.
