re: Italy in March or May? - geauxpurple
We were in Italy this year for the last week in March and the first week in April and it was beautiful. We only saw rain for one day out of 14. It was a little cool at times but the weather was near perfect. Florence on Easter weekend was pretty crowded but otherwise we avoided the summer tourist c...

re: If LSU had to trade Florida for a new CD Rival who would y’all pick - geauxpurple
We should play the teams from the east on an alternating basis. That is the only fair way to do it. ...

re: Rome dinner recommendations - geauxpurple
Largo Argentina archaeology site/cat sanctuary
That spot you mentioned is the spot where Julius Caesar was assassinated. We like a restaurant near there, just off Campo di Fiore, which is also built in the remnants of the old Teatro de Pompeo (Theatre of Pompey) which is where the Rom...

Very good. He was about the same age as Jason Kidd. He would have been right up there with Kidd were it not for his knee injury....

re: What are your three favorite pizzas? - geauxpurple
My three favorite pizzas places are on the Amalfi Coast near where pizza was invented. My three favorites in the U.S. are in N.Y. : 1. John's near Times Square.... 2. Lombardi's in Little Italy....and 3. The original Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge. Dominica is my favorite in New Orleans with B...

re: Best spots to eat in DC? - geauxpurple
Here you go- The W Hotel has a nice bar on the top floor with a good view of the city. We stayed next door at The Willard and went there for cocktails. D.C. is a good restaurant town , especially for ethnic food. These are our favorites: Zaytania for Mediterranean food, Rasika for Indian food, Tos...

re: Tulane and LSU will NOT play in baseball in 2019 - geauxpurple
Good. I was complaining about this on this board at the time. Tulane fixed it so that LSU fans not only couldn't get tickets to the game, they couldn't watch it on TV either. The only purpose that game served was to allow Tulane to make money. Why should we participate in that?...

re: Tulane and LSU will NOT play in baseball in 2019 - geauxpurple
I am not necessarily against playing Tulane in baseball. What pisses me off is that when the game is in New Orleans the tickets are not made available to LSU fans. We should play them once in Baton Rouge and once at the Shrine on Airline. Or as a compromise we could play a three game pre SEC series ...

re: Which LSU loss would you wish was on the rant if tigerdroppings existed? - geauxpurple
Sept 28,1974 LSU 10 Rice 10
I was in high school at the time but I remember that game well. It was at the game. It was at Rice Stadium in Houston but the stadium was packed with LSU fans. After the game all you heard was people bitching about Charlie McClendon. It felt like Tiger Stad...

re: Johnny Poe or Jason David? - geauxpurple
Poe was bad. Jason was terrible, or at least terrible in our defensive scheme. And he was too short. Both of them were frustrating to watch, but David a little more so....

re: Home and Home with Tulane. Why not?? - geauxpurple
If we play Tulane on those two dates, both games should be in Tiger Stadium. Offer them a reasonable financial deal and tell them to take it or leave it. Throughout the decades I have taken the position that we have nothing to gain by playing them but to tell you the truth I kind of miss the old riv...
