re: Ole Tulane Stadium - geauxpurple
I have seen many games there. I saw every Saints game played there, every Super Bowl played there, every LSU-Tulane game since the mid 1960's, numerous Sugar Bowlsas well as many other games. An 80,000 seat stadium was huge at that time. It had no frills whatsoever but it did have character. It had ...

re: Old Law Baws: Professor Pugh. Sad News. - geauxpurple
RIP Professor Pugh. I had him for two classes, Evidence and Federal Courts. Since he was legally blind, I used to try to hide in the back to keep from getting called on. Sometimes that worked but usually not. Every year he would have the whole class over to his house for a big yard party complete wi...

re: Would the blocked punt be considered the biggest play in saints history? - geauxpurple
#1 is Tracy Porter's pick six in the Super Bowl. #2 is Hartley's kick to get us to the Super Bowl. Gleason could be #3. Other contenders are Hakeem drops the ball, John Gilliam's kick return and Dempsey's kick. We all know what the biggest negative play was. I was there for all of them. ...

re: Underrated Angry LSU Moments - geauxpurple
I think the most pissed off I have ever been while leaving Tiger Stadium was after losing to Arkansas in triple overtime on 07. I thought our shot at the National Championship had just disappeared. Fortunately all turned out okay....

re: Best college football game ever "Without" LSU? - geauxpurple
The best college game I ever attended in person not involving LSU was probably the 1973 Sugar Bowl. Ara Parsegian's Notre Dame team played Bear Bryant's Alabama team for the national championship. Notre Dame won in a thriller....
There would have been about three seconds left
Yes, that would have been the hope according to Les Mile's time management plan, but still, that was cutting it pretty close. ...

re: Legendary Saints kicker, Tom Dempsey, passes away - geauxpurple
One thing I remember is that a lot of people left before the kick.I have several groups of friends who heard the roar of the crowd while walking to the car. I was in the south end zone. The kick was to the north goal post. What stands out to me is watching the referee peeking under the goal post li...

re: If you had to fight in WW2- Europe or Pacific - geauxpurple
Last April I was in France and took an extensive tour of the D-Day beaches in Normandy. That was certainly no picnic. My Dad, who would have been 100 in June, was in the Navy and fought in the Phillipines and in the Solomon Islands in the Pacific. We may think we have it rough today but we should co...

re: Trump has a noon (eastern) conference call with pro sports commissioners today - geauxpurple
I don't expect this to be the goodbye to 2020 call. Even if Trump felt that was he would not announce the decision at this point. There is still plenty time. Basketball and baseball are another story. ...
