I'll be honest, I am glad I have balls and not a gash.. Once a month woman bleed for several days. That really does seem more difficult that anything men have to deal with. If you get hit in the balls, that is temporarily worse than dealing with the monthly issue women do.. But we are talking.. 5 mins at most of pain.

care to say anything about the actual topic?

My wife's just started, about a year ago. Switched medications last month, and it's been bad times. She's very sad and we haven't sex literally since she switched. I told her to get back on what she was on before, word of advice to any young whipper snappers.... don't do that.

$1500 a month electric bill because the ACs are down to 60. AC repair bill on top of that each month for another $1000 because she froze all five ACs in the house.

My wife is two or three years into menopause and is a non-sexual being.

She lets me have her, but unless you’ve had sex with someone completely detached from what’s happening, you can’t imagine how horrible it is.

No words of advice. But I feel you. In fact, I had to check to make sure I wasn't eh one writing that. Except I'm 5 or more years on this hell and just stopped even trying. One day she asked why I stopped trying and I just laughed. Literally laughed. Not a damn thing has helped either at least anything she would actually try.

It's a good time to take up an outside hobby, gardening, golf, fishing, hiking, etc.

Why is it called menopause when it specifically relates only to the women folk? It should be called womenopause.

These are the questions in life that truly deserve answers.

Because it makes men pause and consider whether putting up with the crazy arse broad is worth it any longer.

Edit: on a serious note, I don't know much about it. I'm not old enough to have dealt with women who have it.

Is there no medication or treatment for this stuff? Mm ost of these responses from older guys read like guys are being held hostage in their relationship. That sounds like an absolute nightmare. And most of y'all seem to say the answer is not to rock the boat.

I understand it will make them even more irrational and angry than normal, but if the mere suggestion of getting it treated causes them to go off the deep end, genuinely why would I want to sign up for that? I'm not going to go through year , two years, three years of sexless nonsense all because she refuses to get medical help because she perceived it as a personal attack instead of what it really is, which is a simple fricking suggestion to maybe get the issue fixed so we can move on in the relationship. Just sounds like absolute nonsense.

This is the point that I got to this year. She tried HRT and it was working then a friend found an obscure study that mentioned some side effects and she found her excuse to quit (she’s anti medicine)
I pulled out all the stops tried everything I knew to do and finally gave up. Just riding out the song now

For a long time, studies on hormonal treatment for perimenopause and menopause were based on data from the 70s when we were just throwing large amounts of hormones at women so a lot of women who had breast cancer risk in families were advised they couldn’t use it at all. Also a lot of OB/GYNs didn’t have good knowledge of treatment.

Now that the black box warning has been removed from a lot of HRT meds for women, we’re now seeing a shortage. So that’s a whole other issue.

I got lucky that mine stays up on studies and has recommended other supplements/meds that can be helpful. It’s not terrible for everyone but a lot of women just suffer in silence due to seeing doctors who don’t know how to treat it.

So far I’ve had frozen shoulder from it (thankfully PT and a cortisone shot helped). Fatigue, brain fog, night sweats, increase in overall anxiety (comes and goes).

Menopausal is great. Perimenopausal, buckle up butter cup.

Have them talk to their doc about HRT. It helps so much.

Mine's hitting the perimenopausal. I'd never heard of that before now. Any words of advice would be appreciated.

Thank you for this I’m going to ask for a cortisone shot.

My oncologist absolutely won’t let me get on HRT but menopause hasn’t been too bad for me except for the hot flashes. I did buy a bed jet.
