Florida Facing Quarterback Decision Ahead Of Showdown With Georgia

Florida head coach Jon Sumrall has not decided who will start at quarterback for Saturday's rivalry matchup against No. 3 Georgia.

Sumrall told reporters Monday that both Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones Jr. are expected to be available, but he will wait until later in the week to make a final decision.

Philo started Florida's first six games before missing the Gators' 27-24 upset win over Texas on October 17 because of a shoulder injury.

Jones stepped in against the Longhorns and completed 22 of 35 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start.

Both quarterbacks practiced Monday and split first-team reps. Sumrall said he expects to make a decision by Wednesday but doesn't plan to publicly announce his starter.

No. 17 Florida (5-2) will face No. 3 Georgia (6-1) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
