I know that "we need more black kids to play soccer" is polarizing, but maybe the MLS academies could do a better job of outreach in the African-American parts of their cities and identifying kids for their academies. Host events in a park. Bring out some of the players. You don't even need a soccer goal. Grill some hot dogs. Give away some jersey tee shirts. Have all the kids line up and race. Take the 5 fastest kids and see how far they can kick a kickball. Proceed from there.

the brazen condescension from the “right side of history” folks will always tickle me to death. you’re talking about humans like they’re zoo animals who need treats

Almost like soccer is big in their culture and some of their best athletes gravitate towards it. Not so much in the US

it’s fairly big in English and German culture too. but whatever

I've never seen a US team play with a tighter a-hole than tonight. I've seen them get beat. I've seen them take arse whoopings. I've seen them play bad.

I’m sure a few sleeps and a full rewatch might help, but at the moment, that feels legit worse than Couva. I can handle getting beat, tonight was something else

and the real athletes

again, the best to ever play this sport wouldn’t raise eyebrows on the street in every major city in America. no, LeBron would never be good at this. no matter what you did

You'd just have to figure out how to pay them and where the money comes from.

seems like you’re working the math problem backwards

The same way basketball monopolized shoe companies to sponsor AAU in basketball so it was accessible to anyone with talent.

AAU isn’t training players. they’re exploiting them and churning out less technically skilledplayers than 30 years ago, including guys who otherwise might become technically skilled with actual coaching. which is why while we’re still head and shoulders better than Europe/Argentina, the gap is closing as rapidly as it did with the USWNT
I could see it 4 years ago. not anymore. Pepi has been unplayable for 18 months. in our shirt at least. just disappointed he didn’t get at least half an hour today. another borderline wasted roster spot
was Haji ever even 80% this entire tournament? it’s hard to get straight info but If have loved to see him on a lot earlier centrally and letting Balo drift on the left after pulisic was subbed. not that it would’ve mattered frick all

One of the latest comical bullshite terms invented to attempt to spin this. The idea that all black people have these mythical "boundaries" (which seems to be somehow different from the normal idea of personal boundaries) that are supposed to be respected, or else, it's ok to meet the person that showed disrespect with force, including lethal force.

quell it now, or your children and grandchildren will suffer

I still see some on the soccer subreddits melting because he did the Trump dance a few years ago after scoring.

they don’t kill you because you’re a Nazi, they call you a Nazi so they can kill you

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but he has 8 kids by 7 different women (just the ones he claims)

That said, isn't it sad that he stands out for these very sensible actions?

i’d say this stands out as a sign of good luck prepared by good preparation. he has the same proclivities as every professional athlete, he just managed to thread the needle of having 8 kids with 7 women. he’s literally a one of one :rotflmao:

just a few more programs and our murder rate will mirror the Norwegians

How was a 23-3 game completed in 2:37?

this is a squad of baws. and it’s rubbing off on Poch enough that I think he’ll have to take serious time after the cup to think about what he wants

How yall don’t see the hypocrisy is mind blowing

this is an incredible thing to say. I genuinely don’t know what world you’ve lived in the last 30 years

Would you rather Sweet Home Alabama?

based on the crowd reaction as the team was leaving the field, yes. Sweet Home Alabama>Country Roads>whatever is popular today
