His methods may have been passed by. He used to use a formula with returning production, recruiting talent, schedule, etc to formulate a predicted finish and it was pretty good. In today’s game, I’m not sure it’s that easy to predict anymore

So not only can kids not play “travel ball” now they can’t represent their town in an all stars tournament?
Worse yet, instead of ruining their lives by having them hang out with their buddies and play games, let’s go get private lessons

That ejection is exactly why soccer will never grow here. Thats just a play in every other sport. Two guys going for a 50/50 ball at full tilt and one comes down on there other. Ho hum.
Not in soccer though

Left a VP of Sales role 5 ish years ago.
Best move I ever made
Few key notes:
1. I had 2 years worth of bills liquid. Huge help! I would t do it without 1 year liquid. 2 years was lagniappe but 1 was necessary. Takes that long to build up clientele
2. From the moment you start your business until you’re dead, every moment of your life is sales/ biz dev. Meet everyone who cares about you and is willing to meet. Regardless of whether or not they can buy your services or not
3. Don’t obsess over being perfect early. Focus on getting clients and don’t be afraid to make a mess of it while you figure out the perfect business model on the back end (assuming you’re still providing the right customer experience)
4. If you feel it’s right—— DO IT!!

re: Is it common place now for H.S. baseball teams to partner with travel ball organizations?
Posted by Quatre Pot on 6/25/26 at 12:05 pm to ChairmanOfThisBoard
I’ll try to clean this up. A lot of misinformation in here. Only read 3 pages deep so apologize if somebody else clarified.
This appears to be a HS partnering with a travel organization to send their HIGH SCHOOL players to play summer ball.
High school players play summer ball in various ways. Many schools do something called Metro ball. Essentially it’s a high school team that is not sponsored/ governed by the school. Over the years metro has really fallen off in quality and consistency due to it being on weekdays, extremely hot, many rain outs, all for glorified scrimmages. Enter the “travel ball” portion. Some coaches create or partner with a travel ball group after the season so their players can compete together in the same system. Benefits are, turf fields (often college stadiums) so more consistent schedules and the kids are competing for something at least. Many top programs have chosen this route. In some pockets, Legion ball is still very viable (thank God), and in those areas a lot of HS coaches send their boys to play in the local Legion team. Lastly, some prospects take the route of playing in combine style showcases. Show up, play a bit, leave, and who gives a damn about the score.
This appears, based on the coach’s post, to be a relationship to get his HS boys higher level, consistent reps in the summer

As the season draws to a close, it’s a shame we got neither GT nor UCLA in the CWS this year. Tourney is lacking star power big time!
OU is hot an all get out right now. They started the year hot too then their pitching fell off. Once those freshmen started dealing it changed everything for them
OU and UNC, while very good, are just bland finalists. I’ll be watching either way though

re: Data center planned near my farm

At the end of the day it may help you. Hear me out
The DC is going to bring electricity, water, and a well paved road to your property line. Due to easement of necessity laws, you’ll now have better access through the DC property.
Data centers, once built, are silent operations for the most part, so it won’t affect your peace on your property.
In general I’d prefer we didn’t have them chewing up our rural land but it could work out well for you in the short and long runs

Today, the better incentives are usually tied to financing.
I typically finance to get incentives then pay off when I get 1st note

Here’s my question:
Are you already independently wealthy and set up for your own retirement? Are you at least on track to having enough savings to retire comfortably without question? Like if you keep going as is, can you handle 2-3 major disruptions in your retirement savings and still have enough to retire comfortably?
If the answer to those is no, why are we thinking about funding baby girl’s whims?? I’ve put 4 through college. They all had options to get school paid for without loans and did so. I only have one option for retirement.
1 kid had full ride option to go to McNeese but chose to take TOPS and go to LSU. He had to pay a little out of pocket. I wasn’t paying for his party
Next one dreamed of going to Tulane. Spent a year at LSU working to gain a scholarship to Tulane. Earned it and graduated with a full ride to there.
Third took full ride to McNeese and pockets about 4-5K over his expenses each year.
Last one left and went to beauty school.
In 2026 the options to get a degree without financial ruin of the child and the family are there!

Adcadiens made up a very small portion of LA settlers
You have:
Italians
French
Spanish
Africans
Creoles
Germans
Indians
Whatever you’d consider easy Texans to be
And more bandits and outlaws in the piney hill country
Not exactly all of them are necessarily considered to be peaceful, incorruptible, moral cultures

re: What’s the creepiest town in Louisiana?
Posted by Quatre Pot on 5/27/26 at 7:09 am to tigerinexile
Man it’s Oakdale end thread lol
My mom is from there. Spent a lot of summers there and still go visit a couple times a year. It’s a very different kind of place
Ballard Rd at night!??
Bluebush Rd at night?
The south side any time of day?
Just go to Buddy’s IGA and observe who walks in and out
At one time it had a very In the Heat of the Night kinda small town vibe.
Today, the town is filled with gangstas and druggies. Plus, this redbones will kill you in a moment, dispose of the body either in the woods or with a wood chipper (actually happened) then the rest of the locals would dare the cops to investigate!

I’m not the OP but I can say for me- someone who’s staunchly conservative, it’s because I don’t believe a word they say. Sadam had WMDs remember?
This seems like another poorly planned regime change attempt in a region that, since we began meddling, has turned more radical, less prosperous, and far less peaceful- even considering the historic lack of peace in that region. We’ve been on a mission to disrupt the power structure there since the late 80s and Iran was the last target on the list.
Government has abandoned the idea of America First in exchange for carrying out the next coup on behalf of the MIC

To be fair though, those who write the amendment language have earned their lack of trust. I just wish people took the time to research. Info has never been more available
That inventory amendment would have been really nice for businesses. Can’t believe it failed
