The LA constitution in general pisses me off.

Too many protected interests. Too many legislators for a state our size

No reason a municipality should require a state wide referendum to exist or create a school district

Well, if they don't like it they can get a real job.

2- year DL suspension for dui arrest/suspicion. Not conviction. And the suspension remains until charges are dismissed which could take months.

Seat belt. Some mf’er can get on a crotch rocket and kill himself, and I can’t even kill myself in my Silverado.

Lump this in with any law that protects people from themselves. If people want to do risky/stupid shite.... who cares?

Because I've got much better shite to do than take up an expensive crusade that won't benefit me against the state

Doesn't mean it isn't a problem

Probably an unpopular opinion here: Texas has the Texas Tort Claim Act and Alabama doesn’t allow you to sue the state unless it’s for workers comp, fraud or things in bad faith, etc.

Louisiana pays millions and millions of dollars to defend frivolous lawsuits and pay judgements instead of paying to fix roads or hire better employees. Texas has it set up the right way. Louisiana loves its lawsuits.

Why should I make sure my truck is fit for your roads, when your roads aren’t fit for my truck??

The conservative tint regulations were just relaxed a few months ago if I recall correctly.

Increasing the legal size for specks from 12 inches to 13 inches. Ever since they did that, seems I catch nothing but 12 1/2 inch specks all the time.

Of course before they changed the rule, seems all I caught was 11 1/2 inch trout.

Re the State's seat belt law, there's a bigger picture involved, & it goes along with mandatory helmet wearing on motorcycles. Multiple studies show that injuries from not wearing either dramatically increase the extent of injuries, subsequently, insurance costs. Which eventually ends up costing all of us. Not that "visible" to the general public perhaps but numbers don't lie.

Tell me more about those insurance rates since seatbelt laws were adopted.

One that really needs to change. A tax can be put on the ballot and if it passes we’re stuck with it for 10 years if it fails they can just keep running it until it passes. They should have to wait 10 years to get it back on a ballot.
