Despite all the travel ball no less.
In all seriousness, pitchers of the past were built different. I don't know why the new guys are so fragile, but there was a time when a starting pitcher who couldn't pitch 9 innings was a liability.

Yes you did. Ali sycophants claimed "If Holmes fought Ali in his prime...."

Liston was possibly 40 years old depending on his actual birthdate.

Tyson beat Holmes
Holmes was well past his prime and inactive, but people were enamored with Tyson so they didn't care Larry was old.

Lennox was OLDER than Tyson. He also didn't get a 3.5 year break in the middle of his career to rest. Lennox was just better. Ditto Holyfield.

W Bush ran in the same retirement program and the Media and Democrats relentlessly framed it as trying to steal your SS.
That was in 2000. If you had been saving 12% for the past 26 years earning compounding interest, you’d be sitting on a small fortune for your retirement by now.
1000% correct. W tried to save our country and they crucified him.

US would do nothing. Vance is itching to get out of there. Besides, half the cult would think Israel responsible for the assassination to provoke all out war with Iran. The other half of the cult would lay blame at a "deep state" that yearns for status quo. A few people in here would think Trump employed a body double while he prepares the Rods of God.
Unfortunately, this is probably closer to the truth than it should be.

Satchel Paige came out of retirement at age 59 for one game only and threw 3 shutout innings against the Boston Red Sox in 1965.
Incredibly impressive, but again, a world heavyweight champion was not punching Satchel Paige in the face for 10 rounds.
People say hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in sports. Maybe if all you consider is hand-eye coordination, but playing Offensive/Defensive line in the NFL and heavyweight boxing are harder to me.
You can get out 6 of 10 at bats and be the greatest hitter in the history of baseball. If you lose 6 of 10 rounds you never win a fight. If you miss 6 of 10 blocks, you're not even making it out of practice.

And we wonder why our society is failing.

Oswald did act alone. There is no physical evidence that contradicts the Warren Commission at all. All you have are communist conspiracies to try and divert from the fact that one of their own killed the President.

You can't dispute it. We're seeing it in real time in the USA and across Europe. The welfare state will end democratic republicanism and lead us back to some form of authoritarian who promises to keep the free stuff coming.

re: When do we, and the West in general, start to accept the fact that Democracy failed?
Posted by RedSoloSpitCup on 7/6/26 at 2:57 pm to Tom288
Our Republic is FAILING, it hasn't failed.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury." - Tytler
We are far beyond that.
In 2025, the Federal Government spent $7 TRILLION dollars
$4.2 Trillion (60%) were spent on Social Security ($1.6 T), Medicare ($988 B), Medicaid ($668 B), Income Security Programs ($397 B), and $539 B OTHER Mandated spending.
For all you morons who scream about "Endless Wars", our ENTIRE defense budget including weapons, salaries, bases, etc. is only $893 B (21%). We spend more on interest servicing our debt than we do defense ($970 B)
This is why our Republic/Democracy/Whatever you want to call it - is failing...because Americans used their votes to get free stuff.
