Also, it's hotter than the devil's dick most of the year here so it'd be nice to be able to block out as much heat as possible .

Agree on window tint.

It's mostly a LEO thing so cops can see into your vehicle, primarily during a traffic stop, which is a huge safety issue, I get it.

But rather than a law banning windows tint I'd rather have a law that requires tinted windows to be rolled all the way down upon a traffic stop. You get the same results without penalizing the masses.

Sales taxes on vehicle purchases. Specifically used vehicles. There should be a limit to how many times the same object can be taxed. I don’t know how to fix it without treating a vehicle like a property, and that shite wouldn’t work. Bunch of beaters with leins everywhere

Because I've got much better shite to do than take up an expensive crusade that won't benefit me against the state

Doesn't mean it isn't a problem

You could have just said you don't care enough.

Having to register boat trailers and Jon boats with trolling motors. The entire boat, motor and trailer registration is a giant waste of time in LA, other states have us beat by a mile.
Having to pay full tax on a vehicle if you move to LA from another state. Complete bullshite and should be considered theft.
The insurance flag procedure and being considered guilty until until proven innocent. The amount people that have paid $500-600 for a false insurance flag is criminal.

This is very specific to my profession. Until 2022 it was required to do a preceptorship for a year before you could get licensed. Sounds good in theory, but it was just a way for current businesses to get free labor. We were the only state that had this type of requirement. Glad it was finally done in.

Sales tax

I remember when I would order stuff online from places like Amazon and pay no sales tax. When they started enforcing sales tax on online purchases would be my pick.

Allowing constant tax elections all throughout the year rather than limiting these to once per year with the regular elections in November.

This garbage needs to be limited.

Lump this in with any law that protects people from themselves. If people want to do risky/stupid shite.... who cares?

I’m fine with this if the individual reimburses the municipality for the costs associated with the incident because of their risk.

Ursuline nuns in New Orleans cannot be compelled to provide live testimony in a court of law.

Texas was intelligent enough to realize in order to meet traffic flow demands you either needed to A speed up the flow to meet the demand in the desired time frame or B increase the size of the passage to allow more flow.

Lol, I take the Katy Freeway at least twice a week, it's gotten worse since they widened it.

Not really a law per se, but the red light ticket scam in BR.

Re the State's seat belt law, there's a bigger picture involved, & it goes along with mandatory helmet wearing on motorcycles. Multiple studies show that injuries from not wearing either dramatically increase the extent of injuries, subsequently, insurance costs. Which eventually ends up costing all of us. Not that "visible" to the general public perhaps but numbers don't lie.

Now use that same logic with ambulance chasing trial lawyers.
Same as seatbelts & helmets, the laws allow the trial lawyers to increase the cost for all of us.

$20 for every single car except ones older than 40 years. Yes. That’s called a racket. And what a straw man. You could use that reasoning for literally any law. No Asian drivers. No women drivers. No one under 24 can drive. No driving without 1000 different features. Let’s lock down cars to stay under 80 mph. What else you want?

That we won’t legalize marijuana for recreational use. It’s everywhere, regardless of the law prohibiting it. Tax the hell out of it and use the proceeds for something productive.

I hate that the tint law specifically excludes Leo and politicians. What a crock of shite. Guys making the laws and enforcing the laws driving around with limo tint on their windshields.

Seat belt

This is up there. You can get an abortion under "my body, my right" but you better have a seatbelt on when heading to the clinic.

Mine law that pisses me off is income tax.

I want to say there was a court case in recent history that the employee won covering this but I’d have to research it.

If I remember right, the outcome was that they can publicly support a candidate, but they cannot work on a campaign or share their opinions while on the job.

So I think now the yard signs are fine, and clothing/hats are fine in your off time. But I am not sure. My memory is not what it once was.
