That’s how I feel. And yet, I have some young associates who crave more. They want recognition and reassurances and happy hours and team building events.

I got to choose a $300 suitcase or a $300 visa gift card for 5 years.

I think they up this to $500 at 10, I’ll find out next month.

At 15 you get a Rolex.

30 years at USPS I got a little pin. Not complaining though, I know we’re not in the best financial situation.

Been with the same company 34 years now and they haven’t given me anything worth a dang. The last 4 years not even a cost of living raise…just a 2% bonus check that amount to a one week check

Who in the frick stays at a company that long anymore?

If I’ve been doing something for 20 years, I’m good enough at it that I can do it for myself.

Ten Years I get a red badge, and a $3K cash bonus yay

My company's compensation structure for years three and four is what I cared more about. Year 4, all my RSU's vested at 40%.

sounds like Amazon, minus the $3k bonus

People who had, or still have, pensions. The “golden handcuffs,” basically.

Companies don’t really offer that to new hires anymore, so to your point, yeah…not many. But that’s why the older millenials, gen-X, boomers did/do.

Companies for the most part give no shite about their employees anymore

But they still will bitch about “the young generation has no loyalty”

I agree. I’ve been with a great company for the last 3 years. Great pay, remote work, travel expenses and mileage. But people never leave, I’ll never move up unless I move away.

Got a potential offer for another company, same pay, but fully guaranteed, not partial commission. Better mileage and bonus plan. And it’s a managerial role vs sales rep.

When you are good at your job, most places want you to stay there.

I work for a company that gives you these “waffle party’s.” It’s basically a nice Belgium waffle with syrup and oh yeah, a sex orgy as well

When I hit 25 years I got a $50 gift card. Unsure if they still do it or not, it was a new thing for specific milestone years. Now, a friend got a $10k at a certain milestone and I think is due $20k (or maybe just another $10k, can’t recall) in 2 more years after another milestone.

My company lets you choose a gift from a catalog. The value of the gift is based on your tenure. It was a nice touch….some guys upgraded to a size larger tv every 5 years.

I got a few different sizes of yeti ice chests….which I would never have bought for myself.
