I got a Rolex at 10 years at my last company. I didn't make it 20, but for that they give you a month off and $20,000, or at least they used to.

95% of people who stay with the same company for 20+ years are suckers. You have to constantly move every 3-5 years it seems to get a major bump or grow. There is a small contingent that always seem to find promotions and can stay somewhere. That’s never been me though unfortunately. I perform well and they don’t want to move you from that spot….so you get stuck.
Work seems to get stale after about 6 years for me.
Hope it doesn’t work out that way at my current job, I want to be here for the long haul (~20 years til retirement).

Context … Hell I get that every two years or 95k miles whatever comes first… I wouldn’t call it a perk though…it’s just the way fleet services operate… if your saying they give them a personal vehicle that’s theirs disregard my statement

I just got a 45-quart GATR ice chest for my 10th anniversary. They had quite a few options, including a nice Turtlebox speaker.

They gave my ex podna, Big_Moe_Dani, from Vacherie, a company embroidered pillow on his 20th anniversary. He now gets better quality sleep at work.

My longest employee has been with us for 24 years. Not sure what I’ll do for her 25...
There’s IRS caps, but employer contributions are limited to 100% of employees compensation, and employees have to stay under $72,000 combined contributions (employee+employer).

Perhaps your spirit is the limiter, not the company?
I am certain my experience cannot be generalized, but I could not disagree with you more…if right company.

I used to think this way, bounced around every 5 years or so, then decided I make enough money and my priorities shifted to my family. 10 years into my current role, my reputation is established, and I’m extremely efficient so I don’t have to grind anymore. Work life balance is better than ever. So glad I settled down here, even though I know I could be making more elsewhere.

There are non qualified ways to exceed combined contribution limit. The timing of this post is impeccable. Why? I am getting my last NQ cash next week, now having retired.

My company does nothing, unless you are friends with the ceo, then you get nice gifts

My understanding of a situation like this is that the employee would be responsible for the taxes as bonus compensation… are they allowed to sell the truck they got two years ago for profit???

have no idea
ETA: she does share a lot but unless she wants to I tend to mind my own business, she owns a fishing boat in Key West that’s crewed, she “gave” it to her captain and lets him charter it out when she’s not there, very wealthy widow with no heirs

Still has the company fleet truck for working hours.

If the employee went and sold the truck next year the owner wouldn’t bat an eye.
