Is Trader Joe’s any better than Aldi or Rouses?

You just have to shop at Trader Joes once to see because it's less a different supermarket and more a different concept.

They mainly sell their own line of their own products and things produced specifically for them.

They do what supermarket chains have done forever which is get companies to make a version of a product as a generic/store brand.

The Trader Joes twist is that they do that with higher quality products instead of the cheapest one.

Is anything more overrated than Trader Joe’s???

Its Aldi for middle class bores who think theyre better than everyone, and the bluehairs who support Palestine

I’ll gladly embrace my old man at 45 because I didn’t know how good we had it with Winn Dixie. Until now, stores like Aldi and Traders Joe’s weren’t even on my radar, now it’s our only option if our local AG grocery store doesn’t have something.

I find shopping after 8pm is best for beating the crowds.

driving in that parking lot is like entering some sort of 4th dimension funhouse

My old man once remarked that the devil himself must have been the one who laid out that parking lot.

Go by a Trader Joe’s on a random Wednesday morning. Nothing but 30a sticker luxury SUVs and yoga pants

It's 2 or three parking lots merged into one. Way back, the Trader Joe's was a Winn Dixie, then later the strip with Coffee Rani that was built onto the side of K Mart.
Then you have the little strip of Starbucks and the Eye Doctor.

However the parking lot directly in front of Trader Joe's was re done....but not the part that you drive through to get to Coffee Rani, the Vietnamese place, etc which is like off roading

Yup! We make the trip every few weeks from beautiful downtown St. George to Trader Joe’s just to restock our almond supply.

Trader Joes= really weird finds, think specialty grocery but decent prices overall
Good description. I always think of it like a Fresh Market but better prices with an enormous selection of fresh cut flowers. TJ's frozen lasagna is pretty good, and their apple/jalapeno/chicken sausage is good on the grill.

it's weird because there are some decent quality businesses in that lot, but the parking lot is like something out of a small town that has been neglected since the 80s.

Sometimes you can't squeeze through the aisles due to all the double wide lesbians and other times is like a MILF convention.

You never know which it's going to be until you get inside

Exactly.

It was built when evidently, there wasn't a decent commercial contractor on the Northshore.

There are other terrible ones, but that one is/ was especially bad.
