quote:It’s already here and available on many vehicles, it is not a government mandated feature.
According to posters above...it's already here.
Many companies with fleets use it in their vehicles, a lot of utility companies use it in their larger truck fleet, and some insurance companies offer a discount on premiums if it’s utilized in vehicles driven by teenage drivers.
Sometimes I wonder why I visit this board at all and then I see shite like this and LMAO and realize laughter is an elixir for the soul.
quote:It's really not for NYC.
Those really aren't outrageous salaries for NY.
quote:The fact that the actual NYC Mayor makes $50,000 less that a tenured beat cop can make in a year is comical.
A cop can be earning 250,000 after ten years on the job in New York City.
HOWEVER, the fact that the NYC Mayor is pushing to siphon off funds from the retirement system to cover the city's budget short falls while his own people are demanding an 18% salary increase is asinine. He wants to borrow from police, teachers, firemen, police, sanitation workers pension funds while he gets a raise. frick that.
quote:My nephew works for a landscape design company out of Mobile. He has access to a company truck (very nice, top of the line pickup) and it has this mandatory technology that film his every move. Apparently, he had a bad habit of biting his fingernails, that device picks up his movements as if he's eating while driving. :rotflmao:
My employer is saying they are going to put those in our work trucks. If they do I'll be moving on, that's a bridge too far for me. I'll just retire before I put up with that bullshite

Isn’t it a requirement for an HB1 that you can’t find a U.S. worker?
quote:Our government needs to slow play the HB1 application and acceptance process.
It is, but these companies job searches consist of running a newspaper ad in an obscure small rural town somewhere in the middle of the Oklahoma panhandle.
re: Family nember moving to San Francisco for work.... thoughts on the condition of the city?

Consider Redwood City or Mountain View to live and commute to SF. Those areas are expensive as hell too, but they are nicer.

Maybe she could invent something to mount that microphone so she doesn’t have to hold it in her hand the whole time.
re: Has consideration been given to extend 565 in Huntsville to Interstates 22 and 59?

quote:The southern belt line on I65 south of B'ham is finally progressing. The damn beach traffic in summer months is freaking brutal though.
I haven’t seen any plans to do this. They only recently restarted work on the northern belt-line around B’ham. I think it was 2014 when work first started on it. They worked for maybe a year or so and then work halted until just recently, like earlier this year.
The rate that interstates are constructed here in Alabama is just painful.
quote:Our company is 50 yrs old, all executive officers wear suit/tie every day, same for the lawyers & VP's and women wear business suits, close-toed shoes. Nothing casual about the office atmosphere, still stuck in the 80-90's professional business attire.
I worked for a regional comsumwr finance company 5-6 years back… wanted us to wear a coat or tie… said that’s what “banks do”
These people were stuck in 1995

quote:What exactly do you think should be done to China? Who should punish them, penalize them, start a war with them?
What it makes me think about is how nobody seems to give a frick about the atrocities committed by the Chinese government. Sure, we will raise hell over Iran's treatment of women and protestors and bomb the frick out them, but nobody ever even talks about how the CCP has been engaging in literal genocide for years and is apparently so oppressive that people are setting themselves on fricking fire trying to get the world to take notice. Or how about the fact that a global pandemic was released within their borders that killed millions and destroyed the world economy and nobody does a fricking thing about it?

No one wants to eat their floppy pickles anyway. I'll take a Claussen any day over that cheap, wimpy brand.

Not yet...it's coming. They've already set all the public buildings at 78.
