Allen Greene did a decent job as AD. He inherited a fricking mess from Jay Jacobs. Yes, Greene screwed up the Harsin hire (all approved by the BOT), but he was not a shitty AD.
Cohen did not hire Hugh Freeze; Hugh was handpicked by AU's biggest donor before Cohen ever hit campus. Cohen simply came in to "check the boxes" and make the announcement. Cohen was instrumental in directing the PR firm to clean up Freeze's image so the hire would go over more smoothly with the fanbase. Cohen's handling of the Pearl transition and hiring Golesh may turn out fine, only time will tell. Patience runs thin at Auburn, and rightly so.
