I would bet big money that Kiffin will never be head coach at Alabama...
Agreed, if they wanted him they’d have considered him for an interview 2 years ago.

how many opened this thread thinking this was about Auburn?

This is so much better than hiring Durkin.

Gus strung them along, got a major pay raise from Auburn (which infuriated their fans), and then bailed. Leaving us stuck with Chad Morris. A blow the program still has not recovered from.

To put it mildly there is a lot of bad blood, particularly in NW Arkansas, over the whole mess.
After Arkansas canned Chad Morris, damned if Gus didn't immediately hire him as Auburn's OC.

That's a tight knit bunch of guys.

Damn, Bama is fast. :dude:

Hakeem always looks like he just popped 2 Quaaludes. He is a complete and utter moron. Along with many others in D.C.
Hakeem is aging faster than a US president.

I just priced a round trip ticket to Orlando from Bham in February. $1000 for two tickets plus baggage fees. Airfares are ridiculous now.

We are driving. After doing the math and factoring in driving an hour to the airport, then the time needed to check in and board, deboard, then wait on luggage to get unloaded, there's not much difference in the travel time. Plus I don't take the chance of having to sit next to some behemoth with poor hygiene.
Bham is driving up that ticket price.

Robot maids will be here soon
We have 3 iRobot/Roomba vac/mop, one on each floor of the house (all hardwood.) The wife turns those things loose and says they do better than the housekeeper. Just gotta keep 'em charged.

Like a cow.
Auburn has better facilities, better fan support, better recruiting ability than Mizzou.

However, I don't see Drink as a "fit" for Auburn and "fit" is super important on the Plains. I just don't see why Eli would leave a stable program he's built to a respectable level only to jump into what appears to be a dysfunctional program like Auburn who's fired 3 HC's + dozens of Coordinators & position coaches in 5 yrs.

You really trying to get us to feel bad for BAMA? I hope they suffer every misfortune possible for the next 20 years.
That's the spirit! :dude:

Said Alabama is too one dimensional to beat playoff teams every week like you have to do in the playoff now.

I agree with this. I'd add that Bama is also too damned inconsistent as well.

Professionally, he turned it around at Bama.
He was professionally neutered at Bama by Coach Saban. He had to humble himself, STFU, stay out of the social media spotlight and focus on doing his damn job.

Ole Miss has also bent over backwards for Kiffin more than most would.

Kiffin can enjoy living like he is larger than life by acting like a Kardashian while treating his own fans like shite but he deserves to have his own fanbase throw mustard and golf balls at him.
I agree jang. There's a mature, dignified and professional way to handle this stuff. i.e. Cignetti
I remember when Sexton pulled this shite on Auburn in '17 when he floated rumors of Malzhan to Arkansas. Malzhan bent Auburn over a barrel and raped them for a 7yr/$49mill guaranteed contract. That was a hell of a lot of money back then.
quote:

I mean, he is a really good coach, but it's still wild to me that 1 of these 3 teams is about to pay Kiffin $14-15mil.

To pay that much for a HC with no hardware and hasn't won anything of significance reeks of desperation. :scared:

The coaching carousel is getting more annoying than the transfer portal.
The transfer portal will be on fire like never before in a few weeks due the crazy coaching carousel.

You're ready for a coach that made Ole Miss actually relevant for the first time in its history to leave?
OP's an attention hog, nothing more.

Reb's are all enjoying a hell of a season.

lol Hugh is buying in his old neighborhood here unfortunately.

Wish he’d just stay there, but I don’t know if you caught any of his daughter’s posting after he got fired
I hope she got through her class presentations okay last week without breaking down from the grief of her father losing his job and walking away with +$15 million. :wah:
