Yeah, that sucks. Much better to just show up to a scene with bodies on the ground, killer long gone, write a quick report and call it a day.

The law enforcement community is one of the usual suspects that keeps Louisiana shitty. They’re a big player in Louisiana’s culture of corruption.

After all, the sheriffs association endorsed JBE twice because he would protect their little fiefdoms and he has so far.

Override that veto and ram it down the throats of those Boss Hogg wannabes.

exactly
JBE is bought and paid for by the most powerful lobby in the state

you want to fix this state you start with parish sheriffs

You think the LE heads consulted with their employees before showing up to that meeting?

Truth is, it takes about one pay period for a LE administrator to forget where he came from and become a politician ( or a puppet to the politicians). I personally despise that the Chiefs of Police and Sheriff Association has any lobbying power. They shouldn’t be involved in what does and doesn’t become law. That for the citizens of the state. They just need to worry about running their departments

This right here!!!

What does the Sheriff, the Chief of Police, and the DA all have in common? They are all politicians!!!

They have very little in common with the average beat cop/sheriff deputy.

Our country has a severe politician problem, and we the people need to fix it.

Edit to add judges to the above group.

Because unless cops gain some facial recognition glasses that can instantly tell them that you’re a convicted felon or not a convicted felon, they will not be able to use the excuse anymore that, “Well he had a gun.” The police will now have to automatically assume that your are not a felon, in possession of a firearm and will have to conduct further investigation to then detain you and then find out truly if you are indeed a convicted felon.

How is this, in any way, a negative?

All I see on here is key board warriors laughing about crime. Then y'all complain that's nothing done about crime, then laws that keep guns off the streets are removed and you wonder why there are so many murders.

Why do you want to keep guns off the street? They're an inanimate object. How about we keep criminals who are going to be armed anyway off the street? Do you honestly think if your town was inhabited by nothing but a bunch of Polly Purebreads who were armed that modern-day Dodge City would break out? If not, why would you want to restrict the Polly Purebreads' right to defend themselves?

As I stated earlier, I'm a cop. Tactically, I assume everyone is armed. Constitutional carry doesn't put me in any more danger as an LEO. But, it damn sure puts violent offenders in a lot more danger.

Whenever I see a sheriff or police chief tub thumping for gun control or against 2A rights, I just dismiss them as the political hacks they are.

I informed a drug dealer who decided my property was a nice secluded place to deal ....that no one would ever find his body.

It was... Effective.

Proves that Law Enforcement Officials do not care about our Constitutional Rights. Law Enforcement officials have their own motive, It's called money. Who do you think the majority instructors for the CCW course are, "Law Enforcement" at $100.00-plus a pop.

They tried to pull that shite here, but to no avail. You could open carry without a license beforehand, so what’s the difference. Hell, everyone owns at least one gun in Kentucky.

Conceal Carry permit process is a way of police using citizens rights as way for probable cause. That's not the way the 2nd Amendment intended. It's what "infringed upon" in the amendment means.

bullshite. In most places, cops are just overwhelmed and under staffed.

And don't confuse the opinions of the talking heads with the opinions of actual working cops. A large portion of police are big proponents of concealed carry and constitutional carry.

Wrong...

First...I think there are more non-police instructors than police that are teaching.

Second...Officials couldn't care less if some of their officers are making some money on the side teaching CC. It doesn't benefit them.

What does benefit them is echoing their liberal political financial backers.

We need to let things go Wild West for a couple of years. There are plenty more good guys than bad guys. Need to kill the bad guys off, let the rest know they can be killed, and crime would drop like a rock in a year or two.

I'm an LEO and this couldn't be more accurate. "When seconds count, cops are minutes away." When I was a shift sergeant, I had 7-8 deputies on a good day working for me. My district had over 150,000 residents. Do the math. We can't be everywhere at once.

Hold your GOP state reps' feet to the fire. Let them know in no uncertain terms if they don't support the veto override, their career is over.

If people are of age they should legally have the right to own a weapon along with being able to carry that weapon.
Thugs will always get weapons and use weapons to commit crimes no matter what.
This allows the citizen to legally protect themselves.

7 deputy’s per 150,000 people seems like the EBRPSO, out of Kleinpeter substation. That is also a lot of land mass to cover which means reduced response times.

Seems at one time you might have thought about running for sheriff?
