Stand By Me Spinoff - Copycat Movies

In the glorious days of renting random VHS tapes at the local store, we got one that was kind of a ripoff of Stand By Me. Dont remember the details but it was a group of kids hiking around on some adventure.
What I do remember is that out of nowhere, with little setup, suddenly they were running from a train on a bridge. Then back to the story. It was literally like they inserted the scene after the fact.
Anybody else see this and have any idea what it was called?

They've always been supposed to charge you. But most of the time they'll give it to you for free because they know how stupid it is, unless the manager is being a real hardass over it that week.
