LSU head coach Jay Johnson spoke with reporters after Tuesday night's 6-2 win over Oklahoma in the SEC Tournament and provided an injury update on Omar Serna Jr.

Serna Jr. had his right hand stepped on by Oklahoma catcher Deiten LaChance while sliding to score a run and did not return to the game.
quote:

"He had his hand stepped on, directly. It was ugly, really bloody. We had it wrapped up, I assume he had stitches, no idea other than that."

Watched MLB last week. All players sliding feet first. This should catch back on at all levels.

That’s the risk of sliding head first especially at the plate.
