It’s illegal for felons to own guns. This law doesn’t change this. At all!

Where? Where in this law does it state that felons can legally own and carry a gun? Where does it say that a felon will be given his gun back?

That is idiotic logic. Police “disarm” legal CC citizens everyday. You are required to inform an officer that you have a CC permit and are armed. In most cases the officer will get physical custody of the gun while whatever business the cop needs to handle with the citizen.
Criminals, on the other hand usually will not inform an officer that that’s are carrying an illegal weapon. Most of the time the gun is found during a search of the criminal or his/her vehicle. I see nothing about CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY that would put officers lives in anymore peril than they currently are due to the actions of criminals.

It’s pretty simple, law abiding citizens will inform the cops they are armed and the stop will continue in a manner that is safe for the citizen and the officer. Criminals won’t and ,already don’t, follow the law and they routinely put officers in peril.
We should never sacrifice constitutional rights in the name of “crime fighting”

Oh I get it now. I completely understand you. You are terrible at reading comprehension or retarded or both.

Actually, your point is very hard to understand considering that there are other laws that make the possession of a firearm in the presence of illegal drugs a crime. I see nothing in the CC bill that would supersede that statute.

The charge is statute La RS 14:95 E. It states that it is illegal to use, possess, or have under his immediate control any firearm, or other instrumentality customarily used or intended for probable use as a dangerous weapon,

while committing or attempting to commit a crime of violence, or
while unlawfully in the possession of a controlled dangerous substance, except the possession of fourteen grams or less of marijuana, or
during the unlawful sale or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance

fricking pigs lmao. Always wanting everyday citizens’ rights to be restricted so they can have an easier job.

You think the LE heads consulted with their employees before showing up to that meeting?

Truth is, it takes about one pay period for a LE administrator to forget where he came from and become a politician ( or a puppet to the politicians). I personally despise that the Chiefs of Police and Sheriff Association has any lobbying power. They shouldn’t be involved in what does and doesn’t become law. That for the citizens of the state. They just need to worry about running their departments

Actually no.

In LA and mostly everywhere that I’m aware of, it’s illegal to carry a firearm while in possession of a CDS.

SO the gun would be seized/confiscated.

Learn the law. It’s not that hard to understand.

Moho in their right mind would trust their life to a $32,000 a year public servant? I’d rather roll the dice myself.

So I guess y'all are ok with removing the one law that let's guns be removed from criminals?

Someone can be a criminal and not be doing criminal shite when they get pulled over. But if they are and they get arrested then.. Do they give them their gun back if they make bail or whatever? If not its not like it would be hard for them to get another one on the streets.

I'll totally follow their voting advice if they find my stolen bicycle. I can only assume that they're on the case, so it should be a non-issue.

They're just another gang now. They're not going to do anything to protect your property or your wife's arse.

We should take their fat retirement money and use it for infrastructure or to retire the national debt.

currently in Louisiana it is illegal to conceal one without a permit, so if a cop sees a concealed firearm, he can automatically detain/arrest you

If it's seen it's not concealed.

Allowing unpermitted concealed carry for everyone, including felons and people who are known to be no good, removes the ability to disarm the bad guys.

The police prefer to have the upper hand regarding criminals. forcing police to just ignore known criminals with guns in their belts makes everyone less safe.

The nagging question that keeps coming up in my mind, and I’m sure most everyone else’s is what’s the upside to living in the BR? I’d love to hear it. I’m all ears.

Yeah, this is one issue where I disagree with the police. JBE probably called the police heads up and had them go public about it. If you can’t protect me from the criminals that don’t give a shite about breaking the law, then change the law so I can protect myself as a law abiding, tax paying citizen.
