This thing was designed to feed into the skyscreamers at the WSJ and CNBC. They have less knowledge about AI than a lot of folks on this board.
I’ll wait until Friday and see what the All In guys say. If CNBC was smart they should just pay to run that podcast as part of their evening programming once a week.

Nobody is out there because they already got got by the great filter. No civilization could get over the hump before it destroyed itself by some means. Ai may play a role in that by leveraging humans ability to frick themselves up.

That's the proverbial von Neumann machine. The idea that a civilization gets to a point where it creates self-replicating machines that could survive and expand through the universe.
It's also possible that humans on earth are some more advanced civilization's von Neumann machine.
